Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Found this at an Estate Sale this weekend, I have never seen one this big before. It measures 15" across and has a 14B and 2 gate marks on the back. It is pretty flat and thin for it's size. Anyone know anything about this thing? My guess is an old Lodge piece, but not sure. Also was it maybe for cooking over an open fire? It seems to big for a stove burner to get even heat.

I'm pretty sure my mom has a smaller one to hang off of the crane on their hearth, too. Little antique 1700's center chimney house that they have "restored".

I thought it might be for an open fire. I have several 10-12" ones but this thing was huge!

I have one that came from my grandfolks. Grandma used to make hoecakes on it. I cooked pancakes on it also. However, the last use it had.....now don't judge me as we have so MUCH cast iron in our collection....was in my classroom.

I'd put in on a hot plate, heat it up, and the kids would melt crayons on it. Then you press paper on top for the most beautiful abstract designs ever. But, don't tell on me.

I'm sure you want to cook on it, Woodbutcher.
It hangs great and you can pour off grease really easily with a slight tip.

Very Interesting! Maybe at our next gathering we can try the melting crayon craft project. Not sure if I still have a hot plate! Don't worry though, I will give you full credit for the idea.
