We ordered ours just after Christmas...hasn't arrived yet but we are anxious to try. The camp maid site itself has all 4 pcs bundled for 79.00.

I had my eye on it also. But being new to DO cooking and all that, I had a problem with the price. Are you experienced folks with DO's and these tools good with the price? With a little encouragement, I can see me ordering one.

It looks well thought out! And is about the price of another DO.
You always have to ask yourself............Could I build all those pieces for less than they are selling it for?
Usually "No".
We have done a lot of DO cooking since we were introduced to it 3 1/2 years ago, and can see it would be wonderful for our needs.
Can't wait o buy when we get to the USA in April.

Just rec'd email from campmaid. We ordered ours on Dec 28. It says the response over the holidays and the viral You tube vids of late means they are backorderd everywhere. It will be 3-6 weeks until delivery

They are giving me a $10 gift certificate for the inconvenience.

Brian, you should order it and have it shipped to a cohort in the states who can bring it to the Dam or the gorge.

I watched the Youtube on this thing. I've been driving a Dutch for thirty years, so maybe I'm set or stuck in my ways. I've always used a set of channel locks to lift the lid by the edge––it's the way river runners have been doing it since rubber boats were invented, I think. Channel locks never slip and keep your hands well away from the heat of the coals.

The device is well thought out, but I just can't see doing all the stuff with it that it's suppose do––like using it as a charcoal grill. Me? I'd put that $70 towards an aluminum Dutch and never look back.

Next time you're out, try lifting your lid by its edge with a pair of channel locks. No gloves required.
