Just checked out the redwoods last week in the tail end of the wind and rain, starting with Humboldt redwoods near Myers Flat.
It was glorious. Winter is probably the best time to see the redwoods, but too unpredictable to even schedule with one person. I left all my contact numbers back home and figured out what to do each day.
There were ponds in Womens Federation Grove that generally are not there, and the reflections were gorgeous, and water drops were almost musical, unlike water I've heard drop on ponds or in forests before.
Many trunks were almost flourescent green looking in spots.
