Yes.....this a Dam Good Event! And although we are still 3 or 4 days from getting home from the Dam, we have been exploring new routes and new campgrounds to stay at along the way.
We are also tentatively booked into Antlers for next year in Site #11. We did get a chance to catch Nikki in the office on numerous occasions during our stay.
And once again.... THANKS GRANT! :applause:
And thanks to everyone we had the good fortune to meet at the Dam for your Friendship!! :wine:
Hope to see you again down the road somewhere. :)

We had a great time at the gathering and last night I realized some of it came home with me. :(
For a week now I had thought a spider or other nefarious bug had bit me while mowing the lawns at home.
We tried, Hydrocortisone anti-itch cream, Triple Antibiotic ointment and the rash just stayed the same.
Last night it dawned on me,
POISON OAK, Joanie had warned us of it.
I must have brushed across some while going up & down the hill at night.
I have a 4" line just above the sox from the poison oak.
Now I'm using Calamine Lotion, hopefully it will go away soon.

Danny,

Take a shower with Dawn dish soap. This cuts the oil of the posion oak.
I also dampen a rag with bleach and wipe the affected area, within a couple of days everything is cleared up.

Thanks Steve :shake hands:, I'll give it a try as everything else hasn't worked.
We have a large bottle of Dawn liquid dish soap since it makes the best ice pack in freezer bags.
Jane was wondering if that was a diluted solution of household bleach since straight bleach would be caustic to the skin.

Danny,

I just put a little bleach on a white washcloth, just enough to dampen it, don't soak the cloth. I know straight bleach on the skin is not good, but I have not any issues with just a little.
As for the Dawn dish soap, it really works, you just have to get past the dry skin for a few days until the poison oak clears up. Minor drawback.

I hope this helps.

Well Steve, I smelled like Apple Cider (vinegar) yesterday and fresh laundry today
I'll let you know the outcome.
Some of these treatments are just as unusual sounding.

Don't mess with home remedies that can actually do more damage than help (such as bleach which contains lye), get Teknu Cleanser and use according to directions. It works, it's tested, it's safe. It's not internet blarney.

Been hiking in Calif. for 50+ years and have had my share of poison oak infections. Teknu works every time.

Thanks Chas, I'll pick some up tomorrow at Walgreens.
The itch is gone since I scrubbed & rinsed it several times with Dawn.
The nasty looking red line is still there, have very sensitive skin.

We forgot to Thank all of you that so graciously left wine for us on our picnic table as we slept in on Sunday Morning.
We are not early risers and never get an early start on the final day of any event.
And even if we don't know who left what for sure, we have our suspicions.
We did manage to get all the way home with the bottle of "Charles Shaw Merlot" (got packed away where it was not seen) wine does not usually last that long in our possession. :R
But, thinking a Thanks is in order to Rob and Caryn????
It was delisious! and you know my opinion of most California wines!
Maybe you have a convert here??

PS
Just returned from another USA trip and another round of "Lucky Duck" new found cheap favorite wines. :wine:

Okay!
So we were set straight when we were inquiring about Red Wines and showing off our new found camping favorite "Lucky Duck" from Walmart!
Charles Shaw is the famous "2 Buck Chuck" we have heard of for so long.
As a matter of fact.....we are enjoying a glass of it as I type this post. :wine:
Cheers :wine:
