Pulling in the snow

I've got some questions on pulling my tear in the snow. I guess my concern is the inevitability of going over passes in snow or ice. I have a AWD Subaru with studded snow tires and electric brakes on the tear. What's the differences? Any advice or tips would be appreciated.

from an old trucker and former K Falls resident; You will notice the drag effect of the tear more climbing and the push effect more going down a hill. Maybe not a lot, but a little at least. In deeper stuff it may feel like an anchor. If your trailer brake control has an adjuster some like to reduce the braking a bit to keep the wheels from sliding as easy on a slick surface. If it's REALLY bad you could put chains on the tear to keep it straight, but thats an extreme. But you have a great rig well equipped for bad weather, slow and easy is the single best thing to avoid trouble in those conditions IMO. Good luck

I agree with Prem, a very good solution. Gives you a nice 'edge'.

And always remember, drive like you can't stop (because you can't), and stop like you might not get it going again (which you might not). And finally, stay warm! :D

Kay,

You're suppose to be camped out at Hat Creek in the snow this weekend. No?

Kay,

:( Yeah, well...I'm depressed to CAMP in the snow. I'm definitely a fair weather (70 degrees +) camper. I'd sooner camp in Grants Pass for New Years than go to the mountains (Burrrrrr!). But other souls are more hardy...or..._____________.
