Postby Dean in Eureka, CA » Sun Feb 21, 2010 11:39 am

2nd RUSTIC WHITETHORN RUN at CloudWalker Ranch -April 24th-25th, 2010; a unique,
one-of-a-kind retreat, rustic camping, Teardrop Homesteader themed, off the
grid get-together for all hardy teardroppers & friends in the remote hills of
northwestern California, between the Kings Range and the Pacific Ocean ...
no electricity and no flush toilets! If you think you've got what it takes to rough
it and have fun, set this date aside. It will be alot of fun!!!

Come help celebrate Gene (one of the event hosts) and my birthdays that weekend. Last year a group of hardy folks came for the inagural event and WE HAD A GREAT TIME on this remote piece of property. Joanie

They will post directions but it is easy to find. Go to Redway and head west to Whitethorn. Eddie made little teardrop signs to show which road to take and follow to the ranch. I had no trouble last year.

Not going to be able to make it this year. Having foot surgery (toe) on the 22nd of April and will be off my feet for a few days. We are planning to be at the Dam Gathering.

Contacting the Barkers

Postby The Teardrop Nanny » Fri Apr 16, 2010 11:28 pm

:) Regarding phone calls .... Keep on trying, evenings are a better time to contact Eddie, as they are out on the property most of the day. Last time there we no set "fees" or registration, but we did DONATIONS $$ and passed around the hat.

The property is a beauty, and this will only be the second time, so we can create more space as needed. Also, there should be LOTS of firewood!

On the way to Whitethorn Run 2010

Postby LCKelly » Mon Apr 19, 2010 10:39 pm

We leave tomorrow for a long approach to the Whitethorn Run. Tomorrow home to Trinidad, CA ( via Cave Junction, OR ) and a 2-3 nights. Then on to Shelter Cove for Friday night and Saturday at Whitethorn Run. Gonna see if my kayaks still float.

See you there.

Little bit of rain moving through our area here along the coast right now and looking at the forecast...
Nothing but a big yellow ball in the sky for Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Whitethorn.
I'll be cooking a prime rib on Saturday for Outdoor Cast Iron Cooking.

I'm going to try and get out of here right after the radio show Friday. I've been watching the weather too, it's going to be awesome...
