We met a lot of great people at our first IRG so I am sorry I can't remember who asked for our Italian style chili so I will post below.
1lb ground beef, lean
3/4 c onion, chopped
1 26 oz jar pasta sauce
1 1/2 cup water
1 cn whole tomatoes, not drained, broken up
1 cn sliced mushrooms, drained
13/ c pepperoni, sliced (2oz)
1 tb beef bouillon, granulated or 3 bouillon cubes
1 tb chili powder
2 ts sugar
In large kettle or dutch oven, brown meat with onion: pour off fat. Add remaining ingredients: bring to boil. Reduce heat: simmer uncovered 30 min., stirring accasionally. Garnish as desired,
I don't measure anything I just add until it looks good. Also to thicken up the chili I added cheddar cheese and mixed. After simmering then add more cheese to the top.
We will be taking this recipe to our family campout next weekend this way I might be able to get a taste of it.
