Black Butte Lake..May 20th. 21st. and 22nd. 2011

Come join us for Jefferson State Tearjerkers 1st. official gathering of the season at Black Butte Lake May 20th and 21st 2011. We will be staying at the lovely Buckhorn Campground
Reservations can be made at Recreation.gov Each site is $15.00 per night...Friday and Saturday.
Grant and I have reserved site BH44 ( we would be more than happy to share with someone) Sites 39 thru 45 can all hold at least two trailers and site #41 is a drive thru. All sites are available as of Feb. 16th 2011 All sites have a table, fire pit, lantern pole, water spigot close by, Restrooms were warm and clean and the showers were great. If we fill sites 39-45 we wil all be together in the upper area. There is also some additional parking areas close by.

As usual, we will have our Saturday night Dutch Oven Pot Luck, but Eunice and I decided we would do something like Chili and Cornbread Friday night as well. So bring a dish and a plate and chow down
Close by...about 10 miles north of Orland California is the little town of Corning....Home of the Famous "Olive Pit"....the best darn olives in the country
. Also close to Corning is Rolling Hills Casino for you gamblers and Sevillano Links for the golfers in the group. An 18 hole true links style course
at Rolling Hills Casino.
Fishing:
Black Butte is well-known throughout California as an excellent warm water fishery, with the best fishing during the spring and early summer. Crappie, largemouth and smallmouth bass, spotted bass, striped bass, channel catfish, Florida bluegill and green sunfish are the major game fish. A valid State of California fishing license is required.

From Interstate 5, take the Black Butte Lake exit at Orland, CA. Go west on County Road 200 (Newville Road) for 14 miles and turn left into the campground.
