IRG lantern light up...we need numbers!

Now that Kirk is on the attending list, will the numbers double? Is he bringing a semi?

I haven't heard from Kirk in forever. Sent him a PM...tried to call his store today, but it's closed for the holiday. I"ll try tomorrow. Doug

I imagine that you have planned for people to be ready with shovels, should a fire escape its globe due to a mishap, especially if you plan to line the roadway.

It sounds like you will have plenty of lanterns; but, if you want more, I can provide 1 battery operated lantern. Sorry, no oil, kerosene, or propane operated lanterns or lamps.

The idea of lining the road was not even under consideration. I just spoke with Lee this evening and the plan is to do the light up in the volley ball area in the meadow. It's just hammered dirt in that area and any errant lanterns will be no issue to take care of. We will also have a couple of fire extinguishers on hand.

Safety is first and foremost in a light up like this. Please don't bring pets on a leash or otherwise, and don't let children carry your lantern up to the group. Every lantern will be over 500 degrees. Lets just be safe and have a good time! Doug

This group of lanterns have passed phase one inspection and are ready for test fire. IRG or bust.

Some are still in boxes from Shasta, I have close to 40 in the lineup so far.

Kevin....you must have the full alphabet of 220's. I'd like to have the new 426 done for a cooker at the IRG....don't know if that's gonna happen though. I'll probably only be bringing a couple of stoves, they're too much hassle to drag around and not get beat up and I hate scratching up a restored stove. Doug

we will all probably be tinkering on our own stuff. you can come join us and ask questions
Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind? Ask yourself these simple questions every time you are in doubt about any action.
