Last years winner! (Alberto Contador) That is unless Lance has some thing up his sleeve, on how a old guy can win the Tour.

I figure Lance in the top ten, hopefully in the top 5
I like Contador as a rider, but not as a person...not much class

I would love to see Hincappie, but I think his days are gone.
Maybe it is Cadell Evens turn, but I don't think he is strong enough for the whole tour

But then again, I can dream that one of my Canuck brothers will win at least a stage

I agree!!!!!I don't like Contador's attitude either. It would be nice to see lance win again especially at his age.

I’m not holding up much hope for Lance with Contrador in the race – he’ll be a man on a mission to be sure and he can climb like a goat. I think Lance will be competitive, but 3-4 minutes down overall. Unfortunately, my return trip to France was delayed until August – I was hoping to get to see a stage of the tour, but it will be over before I can get there now .

As an "old guy" (56) you like to pull for the "old guy" in the race. Problem is, it's a young mans sport. That said, it should be interesting to see just how much a team can help. Contador has the talent, but he doesn't have the team. I love the team time trial and hate the fact that they have once again dropped this from the tour. Contador has the talent to go it alone, but there are some strong teams out there to help their top guys. Will it make a different? We will know in three weeeks. Should be fun. Peace.

I don't think I have seen so many big name riders crash in the Tour for a long time
Lance crashing three times in one day? Thats unheard off.
Maybe his reaction time is that much slower now

luck has a lot to do with it.. and there seem to be a lot more crashes in general..

I think I read somewhere that in the seven tour wins that Lance had, he only crashed once, and never had a flat.

Yes, you do have to be lucky.

yeah -- he was due a little bad luck -- it's harder to bounce back when you are older too!

Got to love that photo #39 with Andy Schleck, in the yellow jersey, reflected in Alberto Contador's sun glasses. I must warn you that the crash photos are a bit graphic if you can't stand the sight of blood. Peace.

I'm not much of a bike enthusiast, but I'm watching because the French countryside is awsome. I'm getting caught up in the race though.

I want to smack some roadside fans.

Actually, thats the way the fans always are particullarly up the mountains. There have been a few incedents though...Lance got knocked off his bike a number of years ago...got his Handle bars caught in a womens purse strap, I think, and Thor hit a camera ( or something else) in a sprint at the end of one stage.

It takes a little getting used to....
