Electric Fat Tire Bike

I bought this specifically for camping trips since some hills are a pain while some are a dream and having a whisper quiet throttle on demand is really nice!

Cool bike! Where'd you get it from? How much assisted mileage can you expect on a charge?

I got it from the owner who just received it from a successful crowd funding project on Indogogo.com. It was the second largest the site ever had and they are always doing production runs and drum roll you can get it for $700 shipping included. That's insanely dirt freaking cheap You just have to wait months for it to get funded and the production run to be completed. It's not the most powerful with a 300watt hub but it does all I want it to do plus this isn't some Prius, this is a fat tire bike which would look awesome even if it wasn't electric! I think if memory serves they advertise 20 miles at 20 miles and hour with assist. I always just the throttle just because that's what its there for haha... There's nothing like silently climbing a hill at a park, not disturbing anyone and not having to pedal. Just Google Sondors electric bike and you'll get the sire and loads of info!

Oh the reason the owner sold it, was he had an elcheapo dorko electric bike on craigslist that I went to go look at and was eyeballing his new bike and fell in love. All I can say is... money talks LOL and I drove home with it!

Nice! That's a good Craigslist find. Maybe instead of getting a golfcart to cruise the campgrounds I can get a few of these.

Is the tube (or rim tape) exposed through the holes in the rim, or is there something stiffer in there? I'd worry about catching a stick and having a hole through my tube.

Yeah that's just a decorative hole there on the inside of the wheel with a layer of rubber before the tube :)

Gotcha, sounds like just a heavy rim tape. The holes look cool, and I'm sure it helps reduce weight a little too. Not that lightweight and fat tire necessarily go hand in hand.

Keep us updated on your results... Mileage, charge times, etc. [THUMBS UP SIGN]

The next challenge is to find a bike rack that will hold it!
