Can I ask where you found a 14 x 14 canopy? We have a 12 x 12 with sides, but a 14 would be awesome

We like to set ours up over the hatch so if it rains one can still leave the fan on top open and running. We carry a little table that will sit 4 for a meal and folds up nicely and fit under the canopy also.

Tina, I got it at Home Depot. It was some ridiculously low price that I couldn't pass up. I am going to put it up for the first time Saturday to make sure it works. I'll take some pictures and post them. I don't even know what color it is. Now there is a 10x10 at Wal-Mart for $58 that my son and daughter-n-law bought and they love it. It's got a dark green canopy...Alpine something or another is the name (common name brand Wal-Mart carries). The canopy rounds off at the top instead of being pointed like normal. I think my other one is a 12x12 but not sure.

I always cover my galley too. My galley used to leak so I don't take any chances. I had a terrible experience on my maiden voyage to Ft. Clinch with the rain. I'm not fond of camping in the rain since that time.

CORRECTION: Just found the paperwork and I bought it at K-Mart, on sale for $75 and I had a $10.00 coupon so I got it for $65. Not bad for a 14'x14'.

Apologies are in order...I haven't put up the canopy yet. We are going camping on Valentine's weekend and will be taking that 14x14 with us and I promise to measure it. Oh, I found the paperwork on it and I bought it from K-Mart, not Home Depot.

So anything new with you ladies? It is freezing over here!!! Even my dog doesn't want to go potty outside. I covered my plants and am hoping for the best.

I plan on mixing up the homemade waterproofing solution and applying it to my canopy in the next day or so since it will be warm.

I have been working way too much for someone who is supposed to be retired. Tennis keeps me busy, too.

I love...loooove winter but in Florida we don't really get cold winters. But it has been getting pretty cold here lately. It doesn't stay cold, just a couple of days then back to being hot.

Any special plans for your birthday Miriam? I am excited about going camping but this will be the first time I have ever been away from Brian for my birthday and Valentine's day in 31 years. He's ok with it (I think).

Ooooh, forgot to tell ya'll that I got the double potty house from Cabella's from my son and daughter-n-law for my birthday. I haven't opened the box yet but it is the 8'x4' one. It's almost as big as my Teardrop! I have so much camping stuff with Cabella's name on it they should pay me for advertisement!

:) :D I have decided to save my birthday for summer. That is unless it is warm on my birthday, then I am heading for the strip pits to fish.

I'm sending up some positive thoughts for it to be warm on your birthday so you can hook the big one.

Hello to all
I do more zipping in and out than posting as I have plenty to do around here. My daughter and her finance are coming down for the weekend so they can do some cake tastings as they need to figure out what they are doing for their wedding cake. For those who aren't aware the wedding is this coming July and I'm making her wedding dress.
For picture in my album http://www.tnttt.com/gallery/image.php?image_id=41453
I started the muslin late last spring/summer as my daughter moved up to Sacramento in Aug. and I tried it on her during Christmas break and it still fits just the same. Thank goodness! We figured out the buttons on that trip, but there were a few other details that I hadn't figured out then. Now I have (I think) and I'm going to do one last fitting on the muslin as I thought it would be wiser to figure out a few last things on the muslin like how I am going to do the hem as it needed some stiffening but not too much, the couple of pleated bust darts and some adjustments on the petticoat before I start on the real deal. Now I just need for my daughter to try it on and see what she thinks.
Then it will be time to take the muslin apart, make sure everything is properly marked on the muslin (as that becomes the pattern) and then I will be ready to start cutting the silk fabric. :frightened:  Though I'm going to start with an inner layer where the boning and petticoat are. But I'm not looking forward to cutting all the fabric out even working at a 4'x8' work table, between all the skirt patterns being big especially the back ones with the train and most especially working with white fabric that I have to keep CLEAN at all costs.

I've also been hand quilting my teardrop quilt, doing the easiest parts first. Now I need to figure out what designs I want in my borders and mark those as I go.
Of course I have my everyday on going to do list that seems to grow faster than I can mark things off.
Martha ;)

Martha,

What a wonderful keepsake you are giving your daughter. I don't know of many mom's who would attempt to make their daughters wedding dress. I'll bet she is so proud of her mom. I can't wait to see it coming along. Please keep us posted.

Ok Gals,
I'm a newbie who has been on the forum for about a month. I have a LittleGuy Silver Shadow Highline in Ohio waiting for me to come get her. I just had to post since I've been reading this thread for two nights and am only on page 37. I will post again when I get closer to real time. I want to say how impressed I am with what everyone has done. I bought mine, but I spend so much time thinking about, planning, and buying stuff that I'm beginning to think I might need therapy. $> $> Of course, I will probably run out of funds long before that.... :)
I do have a theme, which is "Under the Sea"..... I am towing with a 2006 Hyundai Elantra which is a beautiful blue with a gray interior. My trailer is Silver and I'm doing a blue interior with an undersea motif. That is the plan, we'll see how that goes. My main problem right now is that my living room is full of stuff waiting to go into the trailer. I wish it would warm up in OH..... :worship:
I will post more when I finish reading the last year of your lives.

This is the wall mural I plan to put on the ceiling and I have the wallpaper border, not sure how I will use it yet....

Hi Lisa, Sounds like you have jumped in the teardrop pool with both feet! Isn't it fun to daydream about all the "stuff"? How did you get interested in Teardrops? Do you do much camping and where are you planning to go?

I bought mine too, but it is a piece of folk art - built by a man in east TX and no plan, just his imagination.

Welcome!
