I am very impressed with the ladies here who have built from the ground up. We are all friends in the end...doesnt matter how you got your teardrop. We love camping and you will see there are other activites as well. You dont need to wait to post again. Keep in touch

Can I ask where you found a 14 x 14 canopy? We have a 12 x 12 with sides, but a 14 would be awesome![]()
We like to set ours up over the hatch so if it rains one can still leave the fan on top open and running. We carry a little table that will sit 4 for a meal and folds up nicely and fit under the canopy also.

Tina, I got it at Home Depot. It was some ridiculously low price that I couldn't pass up. I am going to put it up for the first time Saturday to make sure it works. I'll take some pictures and post them. I don't even know what color it is. Now there is a 10x10 at Wal-Mart for $58 that my son and daughter-n-law bought and they love it. It's got a dark green canopy...Alpine something or another is the name (common name brand Wal-Mart carries). The canopy rounds off at the top instead of being pointed like normal. I think my other one is a 12x12 but not sure.
I always cover my galley too. My galley used to leak so I don't take any chances. I had a terrible experience on my maiden voyage to Ft. Clinch with the rain. I'm not fond of camping in the rain since that time.
CORRECTION: Just found the paperwork and I bought it at K-Mart, on sale for $75 and I had a $10.00 coupon so I got it for $65. Not bad for a 14'x14'.

I bought mine too, but it is a piece of folk art - built by a man in east TX and no plan, just his imagination.
Welcome!

I've been tent camping since the 70's, and it's gotten to the point that I only do one big campout a year cause it's a pain to do everything by myself. I was at my brother's place at Lake Tillery and saw the teardrop show on cable. I was hooked. That was Oct 08 and I'm sitting here looking at a collection of stuff I've already bought (in my living room) and I haven't even gone to get her yet. I'm soooo excited I've already made plans for two events by memorial day. My mom keeps telling me I need a hobby.......

It is about 30* here so not so bad. Supposed to get in the sixties tomorrow. Play time.
Really the garage needs some work.
Patience ladies---Spring will be here soon

I have been working way too much for someone who is supposed to be retired. Tennis keeps me busy, too.

That is unless it is warm on my birthday, then I am heading for the strip pits to fish.

I do more zipping in and out than posting as I have plenty to do around here. My daughter and her finance are coming down for the weekend so they can do some cake tastings as they need to figure out what they are doing for their wedding cake. For those who aren't aware the wedding is this coming July and I'm making her wedding dress.

I started the muslin late last spring/summer as my daughter moved up to Sacramento in Aug. and I tried it on her during Christmas break and it still fits just the same. Thank goodness! We figured out the buttons on that trip, but there were a few other details that I hadn't figured out then. Now I have (I think) and I'm going to do one last fitting on the muslin as I thought it would be wiser to figure out a few last things on the muslin like how I am going to do the hem as it needed some stiffening but not too much, the couple of pleated bust darts and some adjustments on the petticoat before I start on the real deal. Now I just need for my daughter to try it on and see what she thinks.
Then it will be time to take the muslin apart, make sure everything is properly marked on the muslin (as that becomes the pattern) and then I will be ready to start cutting the silk fabric.![]()
Though I'm going to start with an inner layer where the boning and petticoat are. But I'm not looking forward to cutting all the fabric out even working at a 4'x8' work table, between all the skirt patterns being big especially the back ones with the train and most especially working with white fabric that I have to keep CLEAN at all costs.
I've also been hand quilting my teardrop quilt, doing the easiest parts first. Now I need to figure out what designs I want in my borders and mark those as I go.
Of course I have my everyday on going to do list that seems to grow faster than I can mark things off.![]()
