My tear has been to Yosemite, Sequoia, Death Valley, White Sands, Zion and numerous other campgrounds but never with other teardroppers! It would be fun to plan a lady teardropper gathering...somewhere central-ish?? I am listed as a builder, but that is very wrong...I am just a teardrop fan. No garage or workshop, not to mention, no skills :)

Welcome :)

Hope to meet ya some where at a gathering one day.

Greetings everyone......haven't been on the thread for quite a while but still find it interesting reading and sharing with our fellow lady teardroppers. Just wanted to let everyone know I just posted my little teardrop beauty for sale tonight, complete with the flowerbox and curtains. Hate to part with her. A complete package with lots of extras and a solid build.....not a build I can take credit for. It will be a great deal for anyone out there just waiting for the right deal to come along. Please pass the word. Hope you all got lots of fun camping in this season. One last trip for me in my TD this weekend up to Door Co. Happy Fall and camping to you all.

buying a Sportsman Classic RB 14ft standie. Just needed more room for me, my camping buddy and the dog. I seem to keep picking those rainy weekends to camp and tire of getting swamped. Looking forward to the inside WC

Hello Carol,

You'll love your standie!!!!!

I bought one last year. It's just nice to have the room to store the td in the garage. And I just found a waterproof/breathable cover for sun, rain and snow for the Scotty. Last year I had it sitting in a rv storage lot. To make sure there are no problems with the new cover I'll keep it in the back yard this winter so I can take a peek once in awhile instead of driving all the way to the storage lot.

Good luck on selling your td. Enjoy your new camper!

Thanks Barb......I'm sharing pretty much your same thoughts about the standie. Just had one last weekend with the TD this weekend. Pretty cold but still fun. As I mentioned before really looking forward to not having to go out in the cold to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I am also thinking the sailboat (now safely along side the garage) will be buying a spot in storage facility and the trailer will get the backyard position. Hoping it will sell quickly too. Getting lots of views just no responses so far. Glad to hear you are loving your little Scottie.

New to the forum!

Postby Siouxgirl2 » Sat Oct 24, 2009 12:48 am

Hello Everyone,

Mandy suggested I drop by as I signed in on the other newbie page. It's great to be here. I'm in the Phoenix area and am anxious to start a build for my daughter and I to use primarily (with occasional husband or friend). I've ordered plans for the Rondack Lodge and can hardly wait for them to get here.

I'm looking forward to chatting with you all and have enjoyed looking through your forum pages.

Welcome! Nice to meet you.

I'm glad you are building a trailer to accomodate your daughter.

IMHO children younger than teenagers should not sleep in a tent without adults. It worries me when people do that.

I'm looking forward to watching your build. Are you going to start a build thread or a blog?

I'm not sure about a build thread I'm still getting used to how all these forums/threads work and how to find stuff on them. If I spend too much time on the computer, I'll probably have anarchy at my house and I'll never get build time in. :D :D

I bought my first materials today. A HUGE bunch of spring clamps at Harbor Freight on sale. The cashiers looked at me like I was outta my mind when I came up with all those clamps.

I agree on her sleeping in a tent. I'd never sleep!!

:rofl2: Having never built a trailer I don't know much but I DO know you need a 5 gallon bucket full of clamps!! And lots of empty jugs to fill with water - so have everyone start saving them for you now.

I haven't yet needed clamps for my rebuild (and probably never will) but I have a serious case of "clamp envy" when I look at the pics around here. I love the ones with pretty color rubber on them. I eye them longingly at the hardware stores but can't spare the money for something I don't really need.

:D There is a careful balance you need here. On the one hand you will gain an enormous amount information and make friends if you are on the puter a lot----winter is a good time for it. Then you need to build as much as possible. Be sure to look at lots of pictures so your bubble will stay centered. 8)

Actually, you may note that I'm in the Phoenix area. Are you kidding me? Winter is the best and ONLY time to be building rather then on the computer.
Summer is when I'm headed to the hills to go camping!!
