Lady Tear Droppers, drop in and say "Hello"!

This is where the gals can have their very own discussions...

Postby CAJUN LADY » Fri Nov 20, 2009 10:02 am

Happy Friday my lady pals (and guy pals who are reading)! Wanted to show my new/used (2008) tow vehicle to ya'll...I just bought it 2 weeks ago. I had a 2003 Black Ford Escape that I gave to my son. It was in perfect condition and he needed another vehicle so mama gave it to him. I went look for a new vehicle...thought I wanted a GMC Yukon or Envoy until I saw the sticker price. The place I went to had just gotten this 2008 Ford Escape Limited (11,000 miles) as a trade in so I was hooked...especially with the price. So let me introduce my new/used tow vehicle to ya'll:

Today is the first time she's pulled the Scotty and I have to say, she did good! We are hooked up and ready to roll out to go spend the weekend with Lynn and Paul Coleman up North. I'll also get to see Steve and Kim Cox tomorrow. I'm looking forward to seeing you guys and gals again. ;)

Hows things in FL? Hows the trailer re-build going?

Hi Mandy!!

Things in FL are great this time of year. :relaxing:

The build is slow as usual. The weather is perfect for it but now money is tight. I'm going to try to do a little on it today and get it back under cover before it rains this weekend. I have enough materials for what I plan to do today but after that it will likely be after Christmas before I can buy anything else.

I can alwyas spend that time finishing up the work on the windows and drip caps. I don't like doing aluminum that much so I do it a little at a time. It's gross and messy.

:applause: Sounds like a great time! I was going to tease you about taking your trailer to work with you until I scrolled down to this part.

Very nice looking truck! I would love to have a new TV. I am making payments on another car right now so will have to drive my old but reliable Jeep Cherokee for awhile more.
Our newer car is a nice ride but wouldn't tow anything heavier than a TD

Like you, I am giving it to my son. But he will have to take over the payments as soon as he can.

Lynn Coleman wrote:Hi Mandy,

It's been a while. I've been busy with knee surgeries, family issues and I finally got back into writing. Currently I'm working on a Romantic suspense novel but we'll see if it's good enough to sell to the publisher. The particular pub I'm targeting has a specific voice they look for in a novel. So, unlike most of my novels, I'm actually writing this one before I have my agent submit a proposal to the publisher.

I've also been working on the family genealogy. Currently, I am trying to research historical histories of the communities they lived in to find out tiny tidbits that help us paint a picture to who these people were. Today I was tracking down the historical account of the 27th Mass Infantry during the Civil War. My great, great, great grandfather enlisted in 1864 and was one of 259 men captured. I've known he was captured, I've known he died in Andersonville from starvation but I didn't know which company he served with and what battle he was engaged and captured in. I also came across some information about who he was as a person from a fellow prisoner of war who survived Andersonville.

Anyway, that probably bores you, sorry.

Lynn

That sounds interesting actually. My older sister Kat is the one who does all that stuff. Right now she sent my Mom a kit to get her DNA to see where we all came from.

We are practically neighbors...I live in Brandon, FL. You have a cute Teardrop...love the blue color. I hope you enjoy yours as much as we have enjoyed ours. I recently sold my 5x10 Teardrop and bought a 1973 Serro Scotty which needs some TLC inside, but she's campable. Here's a picture of her and my newest used tow vehicle. I just took this picture a few minutes ago outside my office door.

I hope we can camp together one of these days. My husband doesn't camp so it's usually just me.

You will love this forum. The people here are wonderful, talented and treat you like family. It's a brother and sister-hood of campers. I hope you enjoy it.

One thing to remember, to keep everyone happy, take lots of pictures of your campouts. We love seeing pictures of where everybody has been. So again, welcome to the Teardroppers & Tiny Travel Trailers club.

Oooo I like that combo. Very nice Becca. :applause:

Hi to all my gal pals (and guy pals too)! Made it back from Lynn and Paul's sweet abode about 2:00 this afternoon. It's a 3 hour drive and the majority was in the rain but it wasn't bad at all. I just don't like it when the big rigs coming flying by me and it makes my camper sway. Makes me shiver. :frightened:

I really enjoyed my visit with them and also Steve and Kim Cox. Thank you so much for the wonderful hospitality!
