being lazy in my recliner with my feet up and Rocky (30 lb dog) jumped off my lap. He hurt the nerve or muscle or something. Limping for so long has caused the other leg to become inflamed as well. The docor has been giving small steriod shots on the inside of the knee but has put ICE PICK sized needles in the knee joints (thought I would die) everything has helped but it just wont go away so I cant walk without horrible pain.
I have taken so many Ibubrofens that I think my blood is running thin and I have used DMSO, WD40 and my brother just gave me his linament that he uses on his horses. It is helping. Doctor says it just takes time but it has been at least 6 months.
of course my mother reminds me that WEIGHT isnt helping.. gotta love her!

Mother's advice...hmmmm...not always what we want to hear. My sweet mom says the same thing and swears she says it for my own good! ;) Yep, ya' gotta love em'.

I know the pain you are feeling but it happened in my right elbow area. I was sitting in my recliner and was playfully trying to snatch a toy away from my dog and pulled it back fast and hit my right inner arm/elbow area and did some nerve damage. When someone says they see "stars", I swear, I saw "stars" and the pain was sickening. I was on the phone with my son and told him I had to hang up cause I was gonna throw up. It took about a year for the pain to really go away. I had a prescription for anti-inflammatories which helped a little. I feel the pain sometimes when I over exert my right arm or play too much Wii. Other than that it is fine.

I hope you get to feeling better.

thanks Becca. It is getting better. Every day I can tell a difference. Hopefully it doesnt bother me in the future.
Sorry to hear about your arm. It is amazing to hear stories of serious injuries that came from some small little movement.

Hi Ladies! It's been a while...I've been lurking on and off the last few months. Been raining like crazy up here. I'm moving into a new job soon and trying to catch up on being down in Louisiana for 3 months for work.

Anyway...using Memorial Day weekend (4 days off for me!) to clean up the Tearscape and get her ready for my 4500 mile trip out to the IRG and back...yikes that's a long way. But...I'm super excited to get on the road and see old friends.

I made a new quilt and will be making pillowcases and curtains to match. (Thanks to Doug for all the material!)

And, here's my new puppy, Bodie...

Hope to see some of you in Pamplin in July!!

Happy Camping.

Hello beautiful~~...oh, and hello Shelly!

Awesome quilt...how talented you are! I used to enjoy sewing when the kids were younger but I doubt they want me making them pajamas now.

So where were you in Louisiana for 3 months? I can tell you now, you would not like it there during the summer months. Mosquitoes will make you scream like a little girl and the humidity can be rough. Other than that, I love Louisiana!!

4,500 miles to camp!!!...girl, that is pretty courageous. You do need to keep a blog about the adventures you and Bodie so we can "dream camp" through your travels.

It will be nice to see you Shelly. It looks like Kenny will be off with his family and will miss IRG so I will be solo. Love the pup. Rosey will want to meet her! You did a nice job on your quilt.

I've never done a blog before. I'll have to check a couple of sites and see how it all works. It would be a great way to log my trip...could probably post pictures too. It seems like you can always find a wi-fi spot on the road somewhere so it wouldn't be too hard to keep up with it.

I'll post the link once I figure it out and see how it goes.

Thanks for the idea...

Look! Walls!

Postby Stressbot » Wed May 26, 2010 11:00 pm

I've been off this week and finally reached a median between no time and no money. :) I cut the walls and built the floor over the last 2 weekends. The rest has been done since this weekend.

Hello to all,

Eunice & Shelly, I'm looking forward to seeing you both at IRG3.

Last summer my daughter got married. Just before Christmas they bought a little (1000 sq. foot) house built in the 1940's in Sacramento.

The Monday before Christmas everything was finalized and they got the keys. It was a mad rush to get bedrooms & living room painted before moving furniture in and David was working on bathroom & replacing kitchen faucet etc and getting them moved out before year end.

The house was a short sale (the original offer was made in Aug.) and though the bones are good it needed and needs work. I figure in the last 5 months we have been up there for almost 2 months in increments of 2 weeks to 10 days at a time. So we have been doing a lot of back and forth with a 6 hour drive between our house and their house. :? They don't have much money or time and we could help them. Both of them helped as much as they could too.

It is a long list of projects that we have worked on and some of them still need some finishing. I've done more painting than I ever hope to again. But it is feeling much more like a home now. Needless to say I haven't been getting much done at my own home. At the moment I don't have another trip planned until beginning of July before IRG, as it will only add a 100 miles going via Sacramento. Though we may do a short trip in June depending......

Here is a link to some photos, set up as before & after. One of the biggest differences was the week when David's two brothers came up and did the 2 arches. All the before photos were taken before the house actually closed so here & there is still some of the owner's things. It gives you a general idea of what we have been up to. I made the living room curtains. We found a place to get fabric really cheap which saved a lot of money. Where the stove was we are redoing, using the facing part & doors from the two tall upper cabinets to make a pantry. The microwave is sitting on one of them now. That was a very strange cabinet on the wall by itself. Also it is fortunate that they have been able to match the cabinets another owner put in. They found them at Home Depot. Also the granite used was a common one and the small breakfast nook was able to be reused for one counter top too. Also if you take note in the photos the location of the door between kitchen (back wall) and laundry has been moved a little and a pocket door was added. What a difference now if the washing machine or dryer are going and door is closed. I didn't included pictures of the bedrooms as the only thing really done in those rooms was painting & molding.
