Mandy...HI!! Where've you been? It seems like everybody (ladies that is) was taking a break from the forum. It's time to come out of hibernation and hit the keyboard again with all our camping adventures.

Last night I thought I was having a heart attack! Then I realized it wasn't a heart attack, it was just me going into shock!! The reason for all this drama was my husband, my non-camping, don't even ask cause I'm not going, this camper consumes your life, sweet husband said, "this weekend we'll fill the water tank up and see if the shower/toilet work in your camper, then we'll make sure the oven is working properly, then we'll crank up the fridge again and leave it on for a day and get every thing ready to go camping". hmmmmm....ok, this is an imposter and what have you done with MY husband?!? Since he realized that he is going to be home alone A LOT, he has began to warm up to "maybe" going out for a night with me. Hey, it doesn't matter to me one bit because I'm going camping...with or without the honor of his company. And he also realized that Maggie, our fat patootie dog loves being inside the camper with me while I'm working in it. So....I may have to "let" him come camping with me once....just once. Ok, maybe twice. ;)

Oh Becca, make the rules clear---no leaving early---period. And you might want to go somewhere fun or get some new movies and lots of beer. Or make him take his own car 8) :D

Becca, who knows if when your husband goes camping he may find that he likes it.

I find camping so relaxing & takes away stress, unless your husband can't stand kicking back and relaxing what's not to like especially if there is food & drink that he likes. And maybe a few other perks. 8)

M and M:
It is a given that he would take his own truck because I'm NOT leaving if he decides he's had enough. And yes, there would be beer to keep him happy and quiet. As far as the other perks...I'm out there to relax, not make him happy!

Mandy, I spoke with her not long ago. She hasn't been working on her camper lately. She said she's trying to get motivated again. I hope she does because I sure enjoy reading her build blog.

I haven't posted in a good while. My mom had a stroke in feb. Fell and broke her hip in May. Was sent to a nursing home for rehab. There was no rehab. They almost killed her. She was throwing up blood for two days. She stayed in ICU for 5 days and was given 8 units of blood. The nursing home never turned her and she now has a stage four bed sore. It looks aweful.I haven't gone camping in my tear drop for months.I've been trying to get my mom well. I just want to say hello to all you ladies and have a great summer camping in your trailers. Take care, Peg

Peg,
So sorry to hear about your mother.
I hope she is on the mend, though when older it can take longer. :worship:

Sounds like no one should be send to that rehab place.

Helping parents is very time consuming. I help my parents some as they are in their early 90s who don't need complete care & who fortunately still live at their own home and fortunately there is more family than just me...

Wishing your mom & you the best,
Martha ;)

 Oh Peggy, that is awful. Praying for your mom. And OMG sue the ground out from under them. Unfortunately the only real way to control abusive rehab places is to take their money and ability to get insurance away from them. '

I too was so fortunately able to stay home and take care of Mike's mom this past year. There is no greater blessing even when they go on to heaven...

Peg how awful! :( Your mom has been through hell on earth. Miriam is right...stir up some crap and maybe someone will investigate that facility.

Please let your mom know that she has lots of peeps praying for her recovery and for you too!

Martha,Miriam,Eunice and Becca, Thank you for the kind words and prayers. It has been a very stressful time for our family. I have never seen my mom in so much pain. It is heart breaking to hear her cry. The nursing home is being investigated. My brother's step son is a lawyer in Houston. My mom heard other people at night being abused by people who work there. Those people are now fired. These kind of nursing homes need to be shut down.Thank God my mother has four children to fight for her.My husband Earl is now in the hospital. He will have a heart cath done in the morning to see if he has a blockage. It really has been a bad year. Pray for him. God Bless you all. Peg
