I like the $6 better, too! I think we have World Market, I'll have to check if that's the place I'm thinking of. Can't keep up with all the store changes, especially if they're at the other end of town, where I think it is. I can barely keep up with the stuff around here! Every time I go out, it seems there's a new this or that where the old whatever was. Don't know the name of a place today, but I can tell you what it was 40 yrs ago. Geez, don't I sound like my parents? That used to make me cringe, now I do it! It's okay, my oldest son ends up using my sayings & freaks when his friends look at him weird. LOL
Yes, that color has to grow on you. At first, I thought that '57 Chevy was gross, but I grew to like it. It's different & I like different!
How cool on the wheels & story! That just makes it all the better in my book. Love the history of stuff, especially WWII. Dad was in the war. I'd love to have an old Willy's woody wagon to pull a woody tear, but it's a pipe dream! I saw the Jeep for around $40,000 I think it was. Yikes! Plus, I don't think they had a/c! No way, I'm getting too crotchety for that, that's a young person's game!
Another reason to get up your way? Glass! Ever see the Dale Chihuly exhibits? His studios are in Seattle, I believe. Gorgeous stuff! Yes, pricey, but it doesn't cost anything to look or take a pic! It also shows up in the thrift stores your way. People don't realize what it is & donate it. I know some folks have made big bucks that way! He also has not quite perfect pieces in the gift shop or something like that. If you've never seen his work, it's well worth the time to. He doesn't blow the glass anymore, since he put an eye out. He wears an eye patch now. Might jog your memory, you don't see many people wearing them. Anyway, it's good junk, Maynard!

Young at heart, the other parts, not so much.
