Hope 'that special one' is there for ya!

Well, bummer - it's going to be another week before my trailer gets here. Sent the funds out by priority mail & so far, it's been 5 days & it still hasn't arrived. It was going to the person (friend) who's picking it up & delivering. I wonder why I bothered to pay more to get it there fast, that's slow as can be! So, it'll have to wait to be delivered until next week, when it'll fit her schedule.

The best laid plans... :x

You ladies have boosted my confidence in constructing my own teardrop. I have a pop-up camper that I'm getting ready to demo and build a teardrop on the frame. I have no construction experience, but, I am gonna throw my hat in the ring on this one. Hats off to all of you for leading the way. :applause:

You can do it, Zee. Have no doubt in yourself. There are a lot of us girls doing it. Just one step at a time, and if you need any help, just ask.

Just wanted to say hello from San Jose, CA. I joined the forum yesterday because I'm about to build a tiny 4'x6' trailer with no building experience whatsoever  :worship:

I have access to fantastic equipment and have already begun taking classes to learn how to use everything from classic shop tools to CNC machines. I posted my design in the construction thread looking for constructive criticism and suggestions. If anyone is inclined to take a peek and share their thoughts I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks Maureen,

I've been a lurker for the past few weeks. LOVED the thread about safety. I had many questions answered there since I'll always be on my own when I take my trailer out.

Hi Stacie and welcome aboard! I think it's cool that you are taking classes to learn to build your own. Wish I had building experience (and room) to build one. I sold my 5x10 a few years ago to get into a standy but I sure do miss the convenience of the Teardrop. Looking forward to seeing build pictures and of course, the decorating. You will love this forum and the people. If you have questions, they have answers....Happy Building!

Thanks Cajun Lady! I know this is a fun and funny (yes, I read the entire "going pee in the middle of the night " thread) group of ladies! My dream is to one day have a tiny teardrop for me and a tiny standy when taking a friend or going out to interview someone for my blog. I think it would be so fun to have my own mobile office so to speak. Have my heart set on a Minit so if anyone ever sees one (I already check the internet twice a day) please think of me and let me know. Have already informed hubby we need to move when that happens so that I can fit my trailers into our backyard and build little houses for them to live in. Our current place has exactly 4' wide walkways on both sides that come up against our neighbor's fences. . . Or I told him we buy a house with a four car garage for my little trailers. His response was: "Yeah, right" so I suspect he won't be in any big hurry to relocate. LOL

Welcome Stacy! You have a real cute design but kinda short...I wonder if you will miss the extra storage. The other thing to consider is how you enter. In most TTTs you sit down and lay back to get in. Feet last! If you plan on sleeping with your head to the foot you will not be able to make a shelf or cabinet! :( Love your blog btw!

Thanks for the welcome and kind words about my blog Miriam.

I am sacrificing the foot shelf but I may undertake adding some dropped storage beneath the floor. I figure that would make up for the interior shelf I won't have.

I will mostly be using the trailer twice a month for 1-2 night excursions around Northern California. I'm a blogger so I'll be using the trailer while out adventuring and exploring the San Francisco Bay Area. My husband has sworn he will never want to (or will go) out with me in the trailer because it's just not his thing. Which means I only have to design for myself and since I'm 5'2" a 6' trailer is more than long enough for me to sleep in  I even set up a mock 28" sleeping chute in my living room one night between the fireplace and some big storage tubs, rolled out my camping mattress and tested it out and it worked just fine. I could easily flip from side to side and never woke up from bumping into either sidewall.

 Mike and I have slept on a double bed for 30 years and have not hit the edge yet. It does help to not be tall. There are days I wish I could take off and just ramble. Maybe I need a blog... :D

LOL when I got my dog I had a twin bed. The first night he fell off. The third night I did. After that I got a double  Trying to figure out if he'll fit next to me in the tiny sleeping chute in my camper or if I'll have to make him his own little platform bunk bed to keep him (and me) comfy.

I love having a blog and not for any obvious reason. I've found that the blog has made me more adventurous than I used to be. I've gone out and done so many things to entertain my blog readers that I wouldn't have done without it. In the process I realized that the best thing about having it is the personal growth I've experienced. Say, for instance, things like building my own teardrop trailer. It's as much for my readers as it is for me, both the build and the adventures to come.

HI GIRLS,

I just got my wifi back up. Its been a long time since I've stopped into the site.

I finally upload pics of my build finish if you care to view. I built my benroy to match the width & height for my Jeep. I'm a pretty simple chic & do not need a lot so I focused on design of galley & 4x4 aspects of frame.

Thanks for the having a place to share our enjoyment & hope to meet some of you soon @ a rally.
