She needs a spanky... See answer below.....

SamR wrote:Mary K-I haven't been on the board much lately. Did you carve that? I'm doing a bit of woodcarving, too, but nothing that good.

Actually, DeputyDogRick made that paddle for me....I kept threating spankies to everyone that was mean to me on the Killer Thread. He took a carving class and that was his project.

Sorry about the grey hair...sortof....I wish I only had "ONE".

MK, Mandy, Lynn, Aunti M, Sam:

Thank you for the kind and comforting words. Yoli was very special. Her wishes were that she be cremated, which was done today and that her services be held to celebrate her life, not death, next Saturday. She was a very selfless person to the end. God needed one more angel and he sure got a good one.

Sam, I can't believe you have one gray hair! I have about 1,000. I don't care what they say about pulling them out...I pull them out as fast as they come in. Pretty soon I'm gonna be bald!! 2nd date huh? Keep us posted.

MK, your paddle scares me. I will never be mean to you, I promise.

Have a great weekend ladies.

MK,

I didn't want to ask this on the 'thread killer', but are you making a real nice place to have it mounted in your tear?? Of course you will have to be able to get down quickly if needed. :D

ack--those are *grey* hairs?!?
All this time, I have been telling myself that it's just new highlights coming in.

Work has been a bear lately, so I haven't been posting much, but I do read this thread whenever I can steal a few minutes to come to the board. We don't have the 3 feet of snow here...but the Sunspot has a frozen sleet cover--I should go grab a pic before it melts.

Nah, it's too cold out there!

I found out this week that the docs won't even consider letting me make a trip like IRG this year. I finished radiation on Wednesday, and will have to move to NYC after Easter for 3 weeks for surgery and follow-ups. No idea if there will be more chemo after surgery, but probably. Timing will mean I'll also miss the English Cocker National Specialty in Philly April 12--I might get to go spectate, but it will be a week after I get out of the hospital so I won't be able to compete. Right now I'm just hoping I'll be healthy enough to go to the NCAA lacrosse national championships on Memorial Day weekend, and Tear Up the Adirondacks in June. But the first discussion of the surgery is 8-12 weeks of recovery time. And cross-country 3000 mile trips are out...even if I took the train from east coast to CA and rented a car to drive in. :(

OTOH, the side effects of chemo/radiation are letting up (except the fatigue), so I'm going to spend this really cold day indoors at a lacrosse double-header. Other people have Superbowl Sunday...lacrosse families have the spring scrimmages. Season starts in a week, and these are the kickoff games. Let the war games begin. ;)

Kerry, The thought has crossed my mind. Something in the Galley, or inside the cabin?

Gaelen, you sound like you are in great spirits and that is awesome. Positive spiritual energy can work wonders.

Mandy, DeputyDogRick made that beauty. He does good work.

Rainy, then cold, then sunny, then the same all over agian. Not the typical winter for around here. Hardly any snow so far (and I hope it stays that way). Supposed to hit near 60 today and probably Mon and Tue also (with rain of course).

Eunice-I maintain that you can have a 15 year past, and still be a young un. I just never grew up somehow.

I can see Mary K is gonna need another paddle! I was wondering exactly WHAT kind of sport it was for, hmm...

Gaelen-just get healthy. Maybe Minden in '09?

Lynn-have you had a chance to check out the insulated version of the Inkwell yet?

And for those inquiring minds out there. The date(?) was a blast. It appears we will be "just friends" which, in truth, really makes it a lot less stressful and more fun.

We leave on Thursday so I'll know soon. I haven't been barefoot out in the trailer so I'm not sure how cold the floor is. I probably should go out there tonight after the temps drop and check it out. I did have to put the ac on during the day yesterday while working in there. I'm restocking the trailer with everything. We took everything out when we painted. Man, there's a lot of stuff in there.

Hi Miss Mandy:

Cajun Country is gooood. I am living in Tampa, FL right now but was born, raised, and raised hell in South Louisiana. Yes, I am a pure lil' Cajun gal. I so much miss Louisiana but I visit once or so a year. It's about a 10 1/2 hour drive from here so it's a good days work. If I pull my Teardrop it would take a little longer but I could make it an easy trip by stopping around Marianna, FL, (5 hrs.) camp at Three Rivers Camp Grounds, wake up and get back on the road - in Louisiana in 5 or 6 hours. I just have to find the time to do it. Time seems to elude me.

I played in my Tear this weekend...all afternoon Sunday (didn't see the first football thrown). I took stripped the bedding, washed everything, put in an electric mattress pad for cold camping, attached some magazine, book, etc. pockets (that I sewed up) to the walls with snap grommets...began working on putting the rubber roofing over the galley hinge, and started working on a "newer, more improved" dishwashing table. I had a full Superbowl Sunday...full of work that is. But it was all good.

Any pictures? I was thinking about putting something similar in the Inkwell, although I'm leaning toward wood. I'd love to see what you did.
