Ok, this is kinda long...just tell me to shoosh up if u get tired of me.

Peg: That is so awesome that he got another job and it sounds like his health will benefit from the change. The only drawback is that he will only be able to celebrate his anniversary every 4 years (29th of Feb.-Leap Year)

Seriously, I'm really happy for you guys. After you posted that about his job loss, I had a dream that my husband lost his job. I woke up with my heart racing. Tell the hubby "Congratulations!"

Mandy, glad you got to see Miss Pam's Cherry Drop. I never saw one 'in person' until I bought mine. I am slowly getting it exactly how I like it butttttt it takes lotta these $> to get-er-done right. Mandy, make a list of what you want in your TD. It will be a massive list but it will be whittled down when questions are asked. List everything you want in your galley even if you think it won't work...there are a lot of us on the forum that can help you figure it all out, sorta. I learn consantly from them and share ideas to help with organization in galleys. All in all, we all benefit from this great forum.

Sam, your whine bottle holder is pretty damn smart - and cute. Kudo's to you lady Sam. How's that little turtle of yours coming along? It never seems to end does it.

I hope all of you have a super wonderful weekend :ok:

Oak red and yellow pine Benroy

Postby J.T. » Sun Feb 24, 2008 11:31 pm

Try as I might I can't seem to find a Benroy one of the ladies built. All I can remember is that it was stained Oak red and Yellow pine. Can anyone help me find it in the archives? :worship: My computer runs so slow that it takes forever to search for something. I liked the looks of it so much :D I want to build one like it.

Mandy,

You got to meet one of the great teardroppin' ladies! I met Pam (and Brandie) last year in Utah and I was inspired by all her positive energy. Like you, I thought her trailer was as cute as they come. I look forward to seeing them at the IRG!

 So, I'm a HOOT!!! Yes, It was GREAT to spend the evening with Mandy!!!! My Cherry Drop is not as fancy as a lot of yours but after 9,000 miles last year and the first 1800 this year, she's ready to camp some more!!!!

We hit alot of snow on I70 on the way home :snow and she's filthy.... I just left her hooked up to the van and will go straight to the car wash after work!!!!

But the van ran great and Arizona was fantastic!

With Shelly moving to Minot, ND looks like the Cherry Drop may get to camp the Black Hills this year too!....

Thank you Mandy for a great time in Albuquerque!

Thanks Again Pam for showing me the Cherry Drop. Now I have a mental picture of where I want things now. Before it was still to abstract cause I wasn't really aware how big they really are.

Hey Ladies what are ya doing?

Well...I have to get my house ready to sell since I'm moving a little sooner than I had expected. I knew I was getting a change in assignment this summer...I just thought it would be closer to September than June. So...Pam is coming down from Denver to help me "spring clean" this weekend and the realtor is coming on Monday. Hopefully, he will have good news on the chances of selling my house quickly.

And...in the midst of all this, I'm planning to build cabinets for my tear. I took out the galley last weekend and hopefully I can find some time to fix her up because I am going camping this summer in between moving tasks!

Take care ladies!
Shelly

Congrats on the move Shelly and good luck getting your cabinets done before you move.

It was asked last week what we're up to, I've been a little busy with work, copy edits, judging contests and speaking but today (or day to work on the Inkwell) produced little but we have the beginnings of the third and hopefully final door for the rear compartment on the Inkwell. We spent the morning looking for a material that wouldn't cost and arm and a leg and wouldn't warp. We ended up with using pieces of scrape 1/4" ply and I'll be fiberglassing it on both sides this weekend. At least that's the goal.

The weather was too cold to put the last coat of paint on the roof, for this rubberized roofing paint they want temps in the 70's and rising. Today it got up to 56, I think. Not quite warm enough.

However a new tool has come into the household. A router table. It came with a router and the table for $99. It's at Home Depot if anyone is looking for one. There's a learning curve to using the table but Paul's very happy with it. I'll play with it soon.

On another note: I've been looking into various ways to murder someone with a rose. Ah, the joys of being a writer. I think I've come up with a method. I need to explore a few more details first but so far it looks promising. If you have any thoughts I'd love to hear them.

Murdering someone with a rose, hmmm.... I can think of putting poison on the tips of the thorns, or worse....powdered ricin in the petals, then when the unsuspecting recipient of the rose goes to sniff it (which we know everyone likes to do when they get roses), they breathe it in leading to an agonizing death. Ah the horror of it all.

Here is an interesting tidbit you could play into the thorn thing, "In 1978, Georgi Markov, a Bulgarian writer and journalist who was living in London, died after he was attacked by a man with an umbrella. The umbrella had been rigged to inject a poison ricin pellet under Markov’s skin. "

Here is some more interesting info, "Ricin works by getting inside the cells of a person’s body and preventing the cells from making the proteins they need. Without the proteins, cells die. Eventually this is harmful to the whole body, and death may occur." Both of these were taken from the CDC website.

It sounds like you might be writing something very interesting. :o

 Now I wonder what you could put in the water that roses would absorb to the pedals. You could make a gourmet dinner that has roses as part of the salad 8) YUMMY ;)
