Marilyn, Lynn, Miriam, Arthur, Eunice, Dog:

Thank you for the kind words of support for Alexis (Lex). Yes, she is a strong lady and has a great and positive attitude but she also is getting her affairs in order. The doctor ordered a bone and full body scan to see if it has spread. It's more serious than we thought.

Arthur, my heart goes out to you and your family. I can't imagine what you are going through, but I know it's gotta be hard. I have put you in my prayers.

Eunice, I was wondering how your dad was doing. I am sorry to hear it's gotten to this point. You and your family are in my prayers too.

I am printing out that info from Dog on that herb. Lex is one who will try anything to stay healthy. In fact, I think I will order it for her.

You never know what others are going through in their private lives. My heart was hurting for Lex and now it hurts for you guys who are fighting for your own health or that of a loved ones. I believe in the power of prayer and I strongly believe in miracles. I have some prayin' to do tonight. :worship:

Ok, now for some happy talk...today was a beautiful day so I got up early and had to go to the doggie store for some food. On the way there, my SUV saw some garage sales and took control of the driving. So, I had no choice but to stop...at 3 of them. The first one I bought 3 very old photographs taken in the 20's/30's of people I don't know. Bought them for 50 cents each and they are so cool looking. 2 are still in the old paper/cardboad frames. I have named the people and will find some old frames to put them on the wall. I know that sounds strange but they are so cool looking. Then I stopped at another yard sale and bought 2 lamp bases (black wrought iron and very nice) for $2 each. Saw them yesterday on the way to work and wanted to stop but didn't...was lucky they were still there today. My oldest son needs some things for his place and these are perfect. 3rd garage sale place was a dud. Sometimes I can find the best treasures. Don't go very often but I sure do have fun when I do.

Becca, you might try your local herbalist. Most places carry this. They will also give you a list of other stuff. Some can be helpful others not so. Also get lots of turmeric. It is one of the things that helps keep cancer from spreading. Mike looked it up for me.

Good :) Brewing the tea is not hard, skip the caps, extract and ready made tea bags though. The 4 herbs is the way and not hard to brew at all. I'm sorry to hear of all the cancer, it's horrible. My Sis worked Hospice in SE CT many years. Patients were asking nurses for Reiki. I trained over 100 SE CT hospice nurses in Reiki 1st degree a couple in 2nd and 1 master. The head of SE Hospice trained also. The feedback was wonderful, it was comforting to the patients. It was officially billed as massage though, reiki wasn't "OK". Dog

Hey ladies.... I haven't kept up much with this thread, internet connections have been spotty lately and busy with other things.

Don't be jealous, but we had an awesome campout at Beavers Bend , in s.e. Oklahoma last weekend... a little cold but sunny and dry! I'm looking forward to hopefully camping Mothers Day weekend and going to a big strawberry festival & renaissance castle fair thingie.

A few of ladies here in the South Central have talked before about having a "ladies only" campout... maybe between OKC & Dallas... but I wish all the ladies from this thread could be there... haha

Just piping in to let you know that my camper is off at an undisclosed location, undergoing a makeover and a new and improved "bling bling" Jewel Box will emerge. I can't begin to tell you how appreciative and thankful I am for the guy that offered to do all the sanding and epoxying and new paint job for me ... I pretty much told him 'do what you want' ... I trust him!

I have some teardrop shaped glass chandelier pieces , you know, the 2" teardrop shaped glass pieces that hang on the chandelier... I got about 15 of them at a swap meet and trying to figure out how to make a mini chandelier to hang from my ez up ... or what else I could do with them. Also need to still finish some interior work.... there's always something... right? haha

Happy camping ladies !!!! ]

Hi ladies (and all you gents who follow this thread, too)!

I haven't posted in a long while (way busy at work and scheming on another project  and no, it's not a second teardrop, it's a yard project  ).

We've been camping, though! Here are some pics from our recent week-long trip to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks in southeastern Utah. This is the cool bowl below one of Utah's icons, Delicate Arch. Can you spot the arch?

This is a better view of Delicate Arch:

It was a bit rainy on a few days of the trip, but it gave us a chance to put the trailer table to good use. My son is enjoying breakfast while he plays with his toys and my husband prepares to slave over a hot camp stove:

While at the Arches campground, we experienced trailer extremes:

Here's a cool ruin in Canyonlands:

And in the never-ending quest to perfect our trailer, here's a new thing I made - a simple little canvas bag that hangs on the tail light to hold the propane bottle:

Hope you all enjoy the pics! And here's a hug and a prayer for all you folks experiencing tough times right now. Take care,

Jeanette

Great trip! I will use your pix to convince my husband we need to go. We went to Zion and Bryce but didn't camp. We missed out on some beautiful views.

cute invention--- hmmm has potential for other uses too, but I bought a hose to use the stove with a 20# tank - heavy but cheaper. We used one and a half disposable canisters the last time we went and only cooked breakfast and bbq ( I think it ate most of the gas) the burgers.

Great pics Jeanette what beautiful country.

Here's a pic that has nothing to do with camping, teardrop trailer building or anything else this thread is intended for. While we were on vacation we went down to the Florida Keys, a traditional spot during our visits, and go swimming at Anne's Beach. Dogs are allowed on the beach there and Corky loves to go with us. However, Corky only likes to stay in the water for so long. So Paul or I end up carrying him for a while. I was sitting in the water digging for shells with the granddaughters when Corky decided he had enough of the water. I held him for a while with his hind legs on my forearm. Then he decided he needed to get his toes completely out of the water and progress to stand on my shoulders. I thought this was very funny but nothing would have prepared us for what he did next.
Here's the pic...

It still makes me crack up.

Enjoy,
Lynn
