Well painting was a bit time consuming but I am loving the results. It turned out a little less red and a little more brown but after deciding I wanted some light butter colored trim it is starting to look sharp. I have a fellow who did rubber roof work for years lined up to help me neaten up the roof line on the long 3 day weekend.

Here are the results before and after......

Image

Took time to scrub off the 3 years of dirt and grime as best I could with no running water. The two sections on the right are done the two on the left are as they were before cleaning.

I was wanting a bit more red cast but as I continued to work with it the more I liked it !

The stark white trim was a bit too glaring so I decided to get some butter colored trim paint and it really adds a bunch I think.

Here we are staring across grandma's garden thru the trees. It looks like a little log cabin.

I had cut about 40 1 1/2 by 5/8 batten boards. I spent a few hours pre painting all 4 sides on 30 of the straightest ones for the board and batten look I hope to incorporate to the caboose. I so wanted to nail up a couple to get an idea of the look but the top edge treatment will hinge on how we treat the rubber roof termination so I held off.

Weekends are just too far apart ! I have a lot to do before winter. I decided to take the time to get the exterior done and weatherproofed before bad weather sets in. I have a welder buddy that will help me finally get the observation platform handrail and brake wheel (cocktail table) welded onto the " back porch " rails.

I had these grab bars (futon couch arm set) screwed into the sheathing and they tore loose so I will be redesigning and bolting them into place. I will reinforce in the wall with some Simpson building hardware to reinforce the mountings.

Going inside I will mount these to the studs as possible and drill and bolt the grab bars thru these reinforcing corners to eliminate any further pull thru.

The color looks great and not nearly as obvious as the orange did. Hopefully the zoning czars will take it as a shed or cabin in the woods and leave you alone. On private property it will look like a little overnight cabin instead of someones actual home. You got a lot done over the weekend.

I don't like these people any more :x ........................

I guess they are afraid of declining sales since a tiny house won't hold as many pieces of furniture as the 3000 sq ft one!

P.S. My tiny house has been referred to as the "walk in closet"

I had a mobile home about 2 miles from my family's home. It was my detached bedroom! Even when I moved it 200 miles !

Looks like a nice location Bob. Is it screened from the road and
your neighbors?

neighbors are cool. One rents from my gal pals cousin and the other own a small piece that grandpa sold off.

The red and blue are the other properties and as you see she owns around them. The tractor barn and the tiny house are shown also.

The tractor barn and the tiny house are an the back side of a high knoll and with the trees they are difficult to see. The neighbors all borrow a fire pit that is just behind their homes but on her property so we have a communal fire pit  At the back of the property is a 60 foot drop off sloping down to a train track that is used maybe once a week. It is so green so quiet and so peaceful. I have another heavy duty weekend planned, painting, leveling, and getting the solar system temped in so I can have some lights after dark. I wish there were 3 of me so I could get this thing operational quicker.
