Take it easy Bob. There is plenty of time to get everything ready for winter. Glad you are feeling well so fast!

Hope you get well soon, Bob. Abdominal surgery usually takes a month to recover from.
I had my first colonoscopy 2 years ago- The wife was very adamant ( nag-nag-nag) that I get this done before I was 65. If I wasn't married, I am sure I would have put that procedure off forever.

God love EM' Had it not been for Becky, my gal pal, I would have ducked it too. And I am guessing based on what they found, I was about 45 days from a very serious mess.

For all who haven't had this check up ,from a guy who really hates doctors and hospitals, just do it ! It is a sleep thru non event and there was no serious discomfort and I was a big 300#+ cry baby before I went in expecting all kind of horrors. Boys (and girls) its just a relaxing 45 minute nap

I second that. I had one just last week. The prep isn't great fun (chugging some salty liquid) but it's not dreadful (stay near the toilet and don't make other plans!). The colonoscopy itself is a complete nap. This is my third or so, and there's really nothing to it. You snooze through the whole thing. Just Do It

Bob, I was driving through your town today and discovered my T-mobile cell phone had zero coverage in your metropolis, so my plan to cheer you up with dancing girls was for naught- ;) I have decided that your town could be a top destination for someone who wants to grow a beard and hide in the witness protection program-- :D
Hope you are feeling better every day!

The prep is bad, the procedure you do not even know you had it. My prep was made worse by a nearly 2 hour trip to have the procedure. I do not recommend a prep then travel!

Glad to hear the surgery went well....and as others have said, take the time to recover at your pace - know your limits, listen to your body and you'll do fine.

Well I haven't got much done but the teasing hard freeze we had last week scared Ace hardware to mark down their Mums to give away prices. I took a can of silver spray paint, an old stock water tank, and a whole lot of dirt and I have a real pretty flower feature in the front of the Caboose.

This morning I had a meeting with the site representative from the power company and for less than $800.00 they can drop a meter pole for the tractor barn. I will place the meter base disconnect and mast head and I can get juice to the tractor barn. I will put a breaker panel in the barn and from there to the Caboose is only about 30 feet. I can simply plug in at the barn for juice for the Caboose

Ah, Home Sweet Home. :dancing: You did it.
Bob, I'm back in Florida now--the job I was on ended up earlier than I expected- I hope to come by to check out your Caboose next spring when I am in Indiana again.

Oh wow Bob! I was kind of in my own little world Sept and Oct. But was looking at tiny houses online and wondered how your move-in was going only to find your update. Very glad you're feeling well and that Becky encouraged you to go for screening. Take it easy and don't rush your recovery.

Well I made the deposit on the electrical service install. The boys will be out on the 9th to set the pole and string the wires. I found a fellow in the neighborhood who is a retired 23+ year electrician who is willing to mentor me in getting the meter base and disconnect and routing the service into the tractor barn. Since I am still on light duty I decided to let the little tractor do the work ! I bought one of these to dig in the service trench to the barn from the meter pole.

I made about 8 passes getting deeper and deeper each time. It sure was better than hand digging. Yes the implement cost $129.00 but I weighed that investment against ripped out stitches and hospital and doctor visits and it seemed a much better option.

As I get older I HAVE learned to work smarter not harder.

That's a neat cable trencher-- you can always sell it on Craigslist later.
It's not a hard job putting in the service, why there are even videos on youtube to help explain the process-- the wire is more expensive now- hopefully, you can use aluminum cable, which will be perfectly fine for your low power needs.

Undoubtedly, a wise choice, Bob.

If I had a tractor, I would get and use one (trencher) in a heartbeat.

Well the power company called and had to move my installation.

Well they had a cancelation and moved me to TODAY

Now 6 days ahead of schedule I have the electrical permit applied for and the $35.00 paid for the inspection.

Going shopping tomorrow for meter base and disconnect and hope to get it installed so inspection can happen!

Hide and watch..... Someone will tell someone about a tractor barn and a tiny house that has magically sprouted in the acerage and the war will be on again. :x

I am starting to understand why tiny houses on wheels have wheels.

God I hope I am wrong ! :worship:
