Aladdin Blue Flame

I saw an ad in Kijiji for two kerosene heaters for $18 . One was A Coleman Quick lite, the little red one everyone is used to and the other was a vintage Aladdin blue flame heater. I called and the seller said that the Coleman was sold and the Aladdin was currently in the garage sale that they were having. I fired up the car and went garage sailing. I arrived and after a quick inspection, I asked "how Much" . I was told since the other one of the pair was sold that they wanted $8.00 for the Aladdin. I gladly paid. When I got it home I opened up the heater and found the original wick cleaner/trimmer inside. I removed the wick and spent some time to get everything moving smoothly. This heater is in great shape. It looks as if it was only a few month old. All parts are in great condition. I have not fired it yet but there should be no problems. .... D.J.

Nice looking heater. I have been keeping my eye open for one of that type for a while now. There is a modern Kerosun or something like that at the Deseret thrift store right now for $20. I think I will probably pass.

I am extremely embarrassed about it but others should know what not to do.
Never leave a heater unattended and always know where your fire extinguishers are. Now you know why I haven't fired it yet. ... D.J.

That was a close one for sure.. I looked into getting a similar stove off of Fleabay for $40 and after some web crawling decided against it. They are outdoor only stoves (and I wanted one for indoor heat/stove use) Multiple reviews also verify the flare problem as well.

Stick with old Japanese made stove for safe and clean heating without worries!
