just picked up a really nice 413E on ebay and was curious about the year. i know they were made from 1954-1960 & 1962, but i was hoping to see a date stamp on the bottom. arent all coleman stoves date-stamped in that time? maybe i misssed it, but i dont think so.

Look on the tabs on the tank that hang it from the stove. That is where it should be stamped.

the only thing on my tank is a little white sticker with some hardware store name and a $22.77 price. no stamping anywhere? hmmmm

Dobyman....what a nice stove! Interesting to see the differences in them even when they are the same model. My 413E has a copper colored tank, and only 1 slot for the legs to fit into, not the 3 like you have, and I have a wire handle as opposed to the stamped one on yours. Yours might be a later model than what I have. I also have no numbers stamped under the tank tabs. Yours doesn't appear to have been used much at all...fun to find one in that condition huh? Doug

Hey thanks Doug and Mark! I really like this one. I was looking for a while and this one came up on ebay with a buy it now for $43 and free shipping and it was on less than an hour when i nailed it. Best buy Ive gotten in a long time! I guess the date isnt that important, I was just curious. I know its almost as old as I am and I guess thats all I need to know. There's a 413E with a copper tank and handle and legs like Dougs on ebay now, but its not too clean, and its $25 shipping, so I guess I did pretty good on mine.
Thanks again for the replies!! This forum is GREAT!
