I have a mystery stove to identify.......

Here's one for you guys to help me with. Saturday, I found this in the ghost town of St. Elmo, CO. There is no tag (somebody tore it off........ )...... There are no stampings anywhere on the sheet metal, tank, nothing. I've looked at the links at the top of the page and the closest thing is one made by Prentiss Waber but the tank on the one's I've seen is on the right side of the case (as viewed standing in the front).
PW did make some for Sears that were called Camp Chef Auto-Stoves but the burners were different.

Jeff....I'd bet it to be a Prentiss Wabers. Some of the parts are identical to the one I have, but my #1 burner is closest to the tank and has a slide to operate the #2 instead of the key like yours. Maybe you just got the left handed version. Doug PS that's one long generator!

Yes, all the stoves I've seen seen like this have the #1 burner closest to the stove, too. Mine has a small, cast iron tray below the first burner. From what I understand this is a pre-heater for it.

I can't wait to tear into this one and see how it works.

I would pump it up more than norman & hold it under water. If there are no bubbles, you are safe.

Yeah, I thought the same thing about the tank. This is one of those that takes an external pump to pressure it up. I have a Coleman hand pump that my Grandma gave me with an old Coleman iron. I'll try the underwater trick and see if it leaks, I hope not, I've been looking for a small resto project since the Widget camper is almost done.
