Woo hoo!!!...major storm blows into Calif...high winds, lots of rain, limbs down in the yard, I come home from work and there is no power, been out for hours. I immediately go to the GPAM....Gas Pressure Appliance Museum and bust out a number of lanterns and a stove. Get them all going and plan on dinner.....Get the house all lit up like I got power, start dinner....poof....the power comes back on. RATS! Turned off the lights and did it with Coleman power anyway....I'll not be deterred. I could see some flashlights and candles in other houses, pre-power....but I had the big glow. Coleman lanterns...they're not just for camping! Doug

What a storm, huh? Circuit breaker popped in the kitchen but didn't lose any power except at work when the whole call center went down and then to generator backup. Only 1 accident on the way to work, and no accidents on the way home. I was expecting a lot more problems on my commute.... except when I got home and when "hey"... I had the ultimate low tire. Got lucky that I didn't have a total flat on the commute in this storm.

The dogs have pretty much slept around the clock.....ah, to be a doggy!

Just heated up leftovers...kinda hoping that it was going to be out for a while...I'd go in the shop, build a fire, set up the shop chair in front of the stove and sleep in the tear. When Daisy was with me, we garage camped several times a winter. Hope George is OK....saw some of the precautions that they did down there for the potential mud slides. Glad you made it home OK Rocketgirl...would be a drag to have to change a tire on 50 in this weather....Doug

Hooray for Coleman! Isn't that the way it goes! You get your lanterns out and the electricity comes back on! It's like when I get my 18 wheeler chained up and the snow plow comes by!
I made a pot of home made chili tonight. I'll be ready for the BIG storm that's arriving SoCal tomarrow!

Doug, you need to move to North Texas. We lose electricity several times per year. Life on a prairie.

You would have all kinds of opportunities to break out the camping gear.

Thanks for the concern Doug, The amount of rain they were predicting didn't happen. now the sun is out maybe we can get something growing on those hills.
