Nice finds! I rescued one of those coolers a few months back from a curbside trash pile. Mine looks just like that except its missing the bail handle that comes up and locks over the other one. Never saw one before I found this one but thought it looked cool. Saw one go on e-bay shortly afterward for about $40. The e-bay ad said it was from the 50's. Does anyone know anything about them? I also rescued an old Coleman cooler from the same pile. I'm not sure of the date on it yet. I have to check it. But I think it dates from the 60s. Has the diamond logo on it. BTW... I've been lurking in the vintage area for a while but haven't fessed up to the fact that I too have been accumulating some vintage treasures for a while...Not until now that is! ;)

I have a couple old coleman coolers with the diamond logo on them. I always thought the diamond coolers were manufactured during the 1950's ... Your cooler should have a date stamped on the bottom. My coolers do not for some reason.. http://tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?t=32852
