Last week I was in Boise and stopped at the Cabelas to pick up some ammo and perhaps another can of white gas. Until I saw that they was asking $16 for a can. That can did not move.

I went to Wally world today and got a can for less than $10. I hated getting a can there but sometimes you just have to.

Makes the addiction a bit less expensive.

I don't know if I want to work on my L227 or just sell it. I got the pump so it will work a little, not sure about the check valve in it as it does seem to leak out the pump steam. I didn't think it did that when I first got it to make pressure. Maybe I lost some part down the sink when I took the pump out. Anyone know if there is something that can fall out unnoticed and down the drain? If there is I can pull the P trap off as I have not put much water through that sink since.

Coleman fuel sells for roughly $10 per gallon out here in southern Ca. at either Big 5 Sporting Goods or Sport Chalet.

16/gal is almost criminal. Wtf.

Randy,
Best price for around here for C-fuel is $8.88/gal and Coleman #21 mantles $2 for a 4 pack at Wally World. Like it or not they beat the average local price by about two bucks a gallon on fuel and about a buck apiece for mantles. If you go through the stuff on a regular basis it does add up. I need to build up some Kerosene lanterns, it's way cheaper lol.

Just for grins and giggles I looked up what is in Coleman fuel
Cyclohexane Up to 15wt % N-Hexane Up to 25wt % the rest is Naptha. I remember my father going to a gas station back in the 50's and buying "white gas" (probably pure naptha) for the Coleman lantern and Preway stove.
