This 226 came home with me for my favorite price, FREE.

I pumped it up and it lit right up.

This will be my next "Sears" lantern project to go in the teardrop. I also have a special case idea. I may try and build a mini "handy pail.

Almost done. I just need a decal. I did not clean the frame yet. I didn't want to break the only mantle I had for it. I need to find some #20 mantles.

I agree completely thats why grab all the fuel lanterns I can find at yard sales, flea markets, and the like. propane seems to be taking over as well but at least i can still find Coleman fuel around my neck of the woods. I keep wondering how long Coleman will keep producing it

Who knows? There is probably more money in the propane stuff, what with making all those little canisters with their name on it. People can just refill a Coleman can with unleaded gas and use it if they want and a gallon is much cheaper. Not so easy on the propane ones. Kinda like razor blades...the handle is cheap...not so on the blades. Next thing I foresee is a tax on the propane canisters, like a deposit on pop bottles. The feds are probably thinking..."its a fuel...should be taxed" It's for the environment you know! Doug

PS...nice lantern Jeremy...are you converting all your stuff to Sears colors?

Not everything Doug, I wanted to put this in the trailer. I am going to make a lantern pole to put next to the stove while cooking. This on will go there.

The paint on it was ok but the decal was peeling. It only tool 5 minuted to tear it down including removing the valve.

That thing was ugly until you Sears-a-fied it.

Now it is a real cute.

I have one of those 226's myself and think thats a great idea painted it like a sears lantern. Red base would look good too.

Let me know if and where I could get a decal for it. Thanks.
