72 Coleman Lantern

Postby TerryLawson » Mon Nov 01, 2010 10:56 am

While I was cleaning up the Disco Lantern I thought I would get out the lantern that was left to me by my Grandfather. Its a 72 Coleman with a igniter on it. Its not anything fancy but it has sentimental value.
I Just wiped it down, changed the fuel and replaced the mantles and lit it right up. These things are amazing. I had been reading about how to rebuild it due to the age. But it didnt need any thing. It just works like a charm.

That's cool Terry, I wish I had a lantern that had been in the family like that. Makes it special. That's a fine looking 220F, a tough lantern made for lots of use. Sounds like it's still ready to go

Nice Lantern. While i have not gotten anything from the family. I did get a 220 from the estate of a high school teacher and friend. A 242 from the estates of an owner of a farm equipment dealership we have done lots of business with the past 50+ years. And a 200A from the living estate of a fellow tractor collector. So I have named those 3, Vern, John and Walt.
