Doug, I beleive that valve is the one that lets the air from the tank through for the instant lighting feature.Didn't coleman have a claim to the phrase instant light? If so everyone else had to use different terminology?
The valve next to the tank is the one for the air on my preway..

Maybe it is a knock off. There are were many foundries making stuff through the years. I've found brand has no bearing on the use as long as it dose what is supposed to. I also have a broken 2 burner I was considering making a white gas cabin stove out of.

I think the three burner is a Griswold #403...
I also think that Doug is a lucky duck... :R

Thanks for the help Dean. It would be nice if it's a Griswold. In the spring I'll strip off the bad silver paint and clean it up.

The early " Duck" gets the worm. Doug just asked first, and it made me think I would probably not fix it like he would.

Steve,
I'm looking forward to seeing Doug, just to see how nice he restores it... I really dig the old ones that have cast iron grills.

Dean....among other bits of info on the stove I found that the cast iron grates were more for the deluxe models and the wire grills were on the economy ones. I need to finish up the 413C that I'm working on right now before I can start this one and I have to find the font for the copy to get a mask cut so that I can spray the copy on the fuel tank. That's a real important part of this one. Doug

Doug let me know where you find that font so I can get a copy for mine please. I would like to give a little more time to my white gas stuff this winter
