Does one have to have the check valve tool I have seen on ebay. Or can one remove the check valve by some other means?

Oh yea you cant read my mind. I mean for the Coleman lantern air pump check valve in the fount.

This weekend I had an opportunity to see a check valve tool in action - Removal of the check valve came out easily and not damaged! i have tried several other methods to remove the valve, usually ending up destroying the valve. It is well worth the money!

Having used the check valve tool.....it doesn't take too many check valves before it pays for itself. Once removed, they can be cleaned and reused, but if you can't get it out in a re-usable condition....it's gone. If mine are really buggered up...I've got an EZ out welded to a bolt that I use. It never fails to remove it. I need to invest in the tool. Dave A has one and I"m sold.

I blew a socket apart on my home made check valve removal tool that I had a couple of hours into....some are really tough to get out.

By the way the check valves are cheap direct from Coleman. I have been ordering some parts from them and the service is great. Same goes for Oldcolemanparts.com great service!
