Most estate sales do not have any good cast iron around here but you can find other old thing. This will be a perfect fit for my vintage trailer (1960 Kenskill). I need to find a source for the cloth covered wire or a safe facimile. This one has too much electric tape for me to plug it in and try it out. It will look good in the trailer unplugged too.

Nice find Dennis....that cord shouldn't be too hard to find....need the bakelite/ or correct plug though. I'll be that "sucker" has more power than any of the current "dust busters"! Doug

They were notorious for shorting out and shocking the user. Also they were so powerful, they would wind nearly anything around the brushes (the ones that had brushes - that doesn't look like it has them).

I have a scar on my head from when sis was helping me vacuum my old mustang (ack, 32 yrs ago) with one and it grabbed my (then) long hair and spun it so rapidly, the vacuum slammed into the side of my head. Eight stitches later, I was still trying to explain the embarrassing accident to the ER docs. *sigh*

Moral of the story, keep it from your long hair! LOL.

Hugs,

Sorry to hear that...lathes can be bad for the same reason. I fortunately don't have that problem anymore. Doug

I have never had a lathe, but always wanted one. My hair is mostly gone and I am glad not to own a brush or comb. Down to the wood! Its the only way. I guess one could go combover, thats not my style.
