Lanterns, stoves, etc... anything old!

details...they're important....

Postby doug hodder » Sun Nov 20, 2011 12:38 am

So I finally installed the decals on this 3H tonight...all the charts say it's a 1929...but having a load of stoves from that era...I disagree, I say it's mid 30's based on the manifold/burner assy (blue band), knob location, lighting method etc and I got 2 of them both are the same, totally different from the late 20's stuff...but I could be wrong. The interior guts are a dead match for the '37 hot plate. At any rate....

This stove was a 10$ pick up at a local flea market...no tank on it, had one that fit laying around so it's sort of a Frankenstove. To make matters worse...I decided to not spray it green, but to do something different. I only had 10$ in it, so figured, I'd do something more creative. A paint job is an easy fix to change colors. I know...I'm a blasphemer!

Thanks to Jeremy and his very creative mind, he cooked up some decals for a number of my projects. I decided to use the "aged" Everdur decal on this tank. I have them in a variety of "aged" stages. Used a new one on the hot plate, just thought this was a good one for a "Frankie" stove.

Just one of those little details that make a stove special. Thanks Jeremy, your help really made it complete! And yes...I cook on it regularly...mine are all users, some not so much as others. Doug

Very nice Doug!

Where are you finding all of your stoves. They are like hens teeth around here.
Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind? Ask yourself these simple questions every time you are in doubt about any action.

They're like gold Lee...it's where you find them...this one was at a Safeway parking lot flea market....checked it out...went home...found that I had a tank that would fit...went back and bought it. Doug
