an odd 200A

What to do one a Saturday? Plenty of time to work on a Lantern! Humm, which one today? Think I’ll work on the ‘66 200A – It my wife’s birthday lantern

I don’t know much about this lantern, but its kind of unusual – the fount that is – As I began stripping the tank – a wonderful glow appeared underneath. Now this is defiantly NOT nickel or chrome – but some other kind of alloy. The fuel cap is the standard brass that was painted. Most steel founts aren’t this shiny after stripping – but this one was. So I decided not to paint it – but give it a good buffing – this is how it all turned out

Nice looking font. Sure it is not nickel? I don't know of any tests to find out for sure. Other than nickel would be softer than chrome. Tin plating?
