Bernz O Matic TX850...not getting hot

Postby Treeview » Mon Mar 12, 2012 10:32 pm

This stove is a two burner propane unit. I can hardly boil water on the thing. Its not a propane issue, I've taken the bottles off the TX850 and put them on my newer Coleman and it sounds like a rocket.

At first I thought that the orifice was carboned so I got out my number/letter drills and reamed the orifice. Still not enough heat.

Any suggestions?
Is there a link to an owner's manual? Google wasn't much of a help. I did find that it is an early '60s stove, that's about it.

Thanks!

This is a stove.

The temps were MUCH higher than 40 when I did the side by side comparison. My new stove made breakfasts for me very nicely on the outside picnic table with air temps at 15f.
