The gathering did start out with some rain, however it quit in time to have a good 3 days of great camping weather. It's always good to meet members from this forum at gatherings and put faces to names.
Kirk (CampmasterK) and Dragonfire are now more than just a name in this box for me. It was great camping with you both, and I look forward to the next time.
Well, time to go find something to eat and then start on the mountain of laundry and dirty dishes.

Kevin.....

Thanks Kevin, It was a pleasure to get to know you. I hope to camp with you again and next time I will bring all my tools so we wont get skunked on any lantern. Take care.

We are home, unpacked an laundry is started. That is another thing I love about teardrops, clean up is quick I posted my recipes on the other thread. Glad to finally meet you Kirk and Dragon fire (and Fire mom!). Sorry we didn't ever catch that woodpecker, maybe next time. Hope to see you down the road and spend more time with all of you next go round. IRG? It was just so big this year, hard to get around, not to mention the rain. Our plan for some sit down time on Thursday kind of got rained out! :rainy: Doug, Kevin, D & D, patty & steve E, Sue and Shelly, of course LEE of Frankenscoop fame, so sorry we weren't around for the war tales of the rally, and everyone else looking forward to IRG & Wolf.

it was great to meet everyone finally!! I was hoping we would get the Pileated, but I think the teardroppers were just a little to active and it didn't stick around. I didn't hear it again after we were chasing it through the campsites..

It was awesome to meet Kirk finally...it was like meeting a long-lost brother! Just a great all around guy..helped a great deal with the lighting, and fixing lanterns..including mine (I missed the Colemanizing...I ran back to the "magnet' (aka Grasshopper) and got stuck there for about 2 hours. I actually had to start avoiding my own trailer or I'd be stuck there doing the 5 cent tour!

Doug is a blast..I didn't know he was so dang funny! Really a great guy!

Kevin had more Coleman in one place than I have ever seen before..great guy, fun to be around..and I heard a rumor he has a bunch of CI..didn't check into the rumor, but somehow I believe it...

Shelly and Sue are fun....they passed us on the way home out on 5...Shelly was a good enough sport to try the DO nachos I made even though they had cheese, and also had a peach toas-tite this morning..

Got to hitch a ride on Lazybones' winning scooter...that was one of the best parts of the whole weekend. I'm still in total awe that he built that thing and rode it across the country..kind of make me wonder what he will do when he builds another tear...

I met so many people..but I can't remember who is on this board and who is on some of the vintage trailer things...don't mean to leave anyone out..Don and Donna are great but don't know if they are here...I saw our teardrop bother from Hayward with the Tortuga woodie trailer..Just an amazing time.

I want to go back to the world where everyone lives in teardrops, there is no crime, everyone is your friend, people and not cars rule the 'streets'...people don't use flashlights but carry Coleman lanterns instead...everyone eats food from a DO and there is more than enough to go around...it was like living in an alternate universe for 4 days. It was too short. I want to go back....

I'm headed to Fallen Leaf at Tahoe June 15-17. It's a vintage campout..only festivities are a pot luck. Hope to see other teardroppers there!! And you don't need a vintage trailer to go..it's very open. Hope to see some of you there!!

Dragonfire....thanks for the great nacho's Margarita bar on Sat. night....toastites on Sun AM. You're trailer is great!....I'll see you up at Fallen Leaf Lake in June. Just remember everyone that was there. What happens at the Dam...stays at the Dam or at least between us....no exposing any of the "Indian" names that some acquired, it's our camping thing. By the end of the summer's camping season, I'm sure all will have a name. My kindred "red brother" George who is part of our "tribe", and is part Cherokee, will enjoy them however, and it will be discussed via (in my best Native American voice) "talking wires". His is one with our camping spirits..... :shhh: Walking Eagle.

PS....my name is OK...it's well known

I just wish I hadn't missed out on the lantern wrenching session. I need to ask Kirk if I can get some kind of CRV so I can haul stuff around without having to make extra trips to the magnet (thus getting stuck for hours)...wouldn't want to step on any toes!

I think fallen leaf won't be the same, but it will still be fun. I'll bring marshmallows again and we can roast them this time... At least I've got a good idea of how teardroppers camp now and hope I can get good enough with the DO to represent well at fallen leaf.

And I'll get my lanterns going before then..

Doug and Kevin have more Coleman than I have ever sen in one place..and it's all for use. Can't wait for the IRG to see what they will bring. Just wish Kirk could get shoehorned in somehow!!

It was great to be camping with all of you again! I feel so lucky to have such wonderful people as my friends!

Kirk; It was a pleasure meeting you! I'm glad you fit right in with our warped little group.

Barbara; It was fun spending more time with you. Thanks for the nachos and libations. I will see you at the Bastards Rally.
Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind? Ask yourself these simple questions every time you are in doubt about any action.
