Finished my Sears 502

Postby Woodbutcher » Thu Jul 19, 2012 7:23 pm

I picked up an old Coleman 502. Thought it would look good with my Sears lantern. What's a little blue paint among friends!

I really like that!! I love the 502's anyway..wish I could find a whole bunch of them..I'd paint them all like lanterns I want or have (turd 502 anyone??) maybe even a Vespa 502 (if Kirk can have a Harley stove, then I can have a Vespa 502!)

Great idea..those really look good together!

I love it. I've been looking for a nice 502 also. I see them a lot on eBay for a decent price, but they always want so much to ship. Sigh

Very nice job on the 502 redo. They go good together. As you know I'm partial to one lungers myself. :applause:

Thanks guys, I am going to do a few different custom pieces. I have a bunch of common lanterns that need new paint so why not have a little fun with them.

I hear ya on the Ebay shipping charges. I have great luck at basic flea markets in the Chicago area. I do go most every week but I also find a few pieces each trip as well. Plus, when I hit garage sales I ask if they have any old camping lanterns a stoves. You would be surprised at how many people say oh yea I got one. I did not think any one used those any more. They always sell them cheap. It does pay to ask.

Always ask if they have fuel when you find one at a garage sale. Chances are, if they got a stove or lantern, they may have fuel as well and will throw it in on the deal. Doug
