I blame this website for my addiction. I have gotten two stoves, one lantern, and a picnic stove. Well I got tired of working on my car and worked on my lantern today. I don't know what model it is I just know it has a date on the bottom of 4 61. Put new mantles on and it worked. Now for more.
Sorry Christopher....but lanterns and old stoves are alot cheaper than a car to work on, a pair of mantles, beats a set of brakes.....welcome aboard! Doug
This post makes me want to round up all my lanterns and get them going. I think I'm missing some glass etc on some of them. Think I'll do that when I get home.
Welcome to the Coleman world.....this site/group will introduce you to all kinds of new things......watch out, cast iron may be next (that is if you are not already into it!)
Oh yeah I already have the cast iron bug. I have three pans, two dutch ovens and am looking for cauldron for partys I have so I can make stew. I hated getting teflon on my food so I threw out what I had and got cast iron.
Chris - just embrace it. No one will understand you now but us. You are home brother. It is ok to drag home many more lanterns and stoves than you really need. We understand.
I tell ya what if you are ever in my territory stop by a place on Highway 12 just east of Eau Claire called The Shed. Its a indoor flea market. Its a gold mine most of the time for cast iron and Coleman. Also check sold4uauctions.com I don't know where exactly you are but that website has them all the time. I have a wife so I can't buy all that I find.
