6 new babies to be reborn....

Postby doug hodder » Sun May 16, 2010 8:17 pm

I forgot all about this bunch I got last summer. 2 242's a C and a B...4 200's between '55 and '76. I got burned out on working on the new trailer so tore them all apart today...did the carb cleaner and BB treatment on 3 of the 200's tanks....They will be bead blasted this coming week maybe, and polish up the nickel ones....next time you see them...they will all be done. Excellent Doug

I've yet to get a 242 but look forward to it. Those all look like they should restore nicely. It will be fun to see them when you're done 8)

Shaun...what's really cool is to get a 242...then get the small mica globe for it...really gives it a vintage look...and keeps people guessing on it, just makes it look really different. Doug

That's a neat idea Doug, thanks! I gotta remember that, I can picture how it would change the look. I just looked in Fred Kuntz's catalog, they're reasonably priced too. 8)

My dad has one just like one of those red ones. Even has the metal case for it. I'd swipe it, but the airlines don't like anything that had gas in it to fly on their planes.

Wow, except for a patina of dust; they look in mighty fine condition.

Hey Doug, the 200a fourth from the left looks exactly like mine - flip that guy over and let me know if it has anything other than a "55" stamped on the bottom?

BTW I think you need to send that original globe to me...

I can see we have another collector in the making, already seeing the subtle differences when others just see a red lantern
