New Contest. Gold Bond 228.

Lanterns, stoves, etc... anything old!

New Contest. Gold Bond 228.

Postby campmaster-k » Wed Dec 04, 2013 3:17 pm

So here is a small thing to look forward to. The ending of this ebay auction for a Gold Bond 228 Big Hat lantern.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-GOLD-BO ... 461709065d

Anyone can and should play, it will extend your life. You must be a member of the forum. No risk, just guess the ending bid closest without going over and I will send you a cool prize. Probably a nebo led flashlight.

Please play even if you have won this contest before. All guesses must stop one hour before the end of the auction. Read through the guesses before you guess to avoid duplication.

This one appears to be real, all original lantern. The prices of late have been nuts. I expect this lantern to to fairly high but not like a 200a.

Take a look at the other gold bond monstrosities for sale on ebay. Yuk! Its a free country and all but watch out for the snake oil salesmen!!!!

We have 6 days. You know the old saying "Only fools rush in."

That is one good looking lantern. You all can get that for my Christmas present and I promise I will not bother you until the next year. :D

I guess $425.75

Nice, but the 228s have been all over the place pricewise. I'm going to low ball it at $148.

402.79....I wouldn't pay that for it, but I'm more of a stove person... someone will drop some coin on it, no doubt. Doug

Kirk,

I don't normally play these contests, but I want to play this one, cause I'm curious how much these things really go for. So I'm going to guess $399.
