The Mil Spec is the 252 model made for the military. It is basically a 220 B or C with a single mantle made to burn CF or leaded gas, Has a parts compartment in the font, a 4 piece globe, a funnel chained to it as well as the filler cap.

:D real nice Randy, I have a bunch of Mil Spec lanterns, some can be real cranky, but once going, bring out the ear plugs. Picked up 1 of those stoves last year, no case or windscreens but it sure perks a pot of coffee REAL FAST

Nice finds Randy. I also have a 523 MD stove, think it is next in line for an overhaul. Didn't get the windscreen or tool kit, will have to keep my eyes open for those. Check underneath the top frame portion, you should find some spare part tubes.

Yeah, there are 2 tubes under the top. I opened them up last night and inside each is a generator and what looks like graphite packings. Didn't really mess with those, no need to mess them up. Can't say there is a tool kit but in one corner there is a wrench with a little cleaner on it. Last night just before dark I put some CF in the lantern to mix with the old RUG, i do not know how full it was. I then fired it up and hung it outside. It is still burning. I pumped it up about 11pm last night and this morning it was no longer roaring so pumped a few more into it. Going on about 11 hours now.

Randy

( edited to make it say I fueled up the lantern )

Well 24 hours ago I put some CF into my Mil Spec to see about getting that old stinky RUG out of it. I didn't look to see how full it was but it wasn't running over. I fired it up and it is still running. Last night while I was sleeping it dimmed down a bit. I pumped it up about 7:30 this morning. This afternoon I left it burning in the shop while I went to see my dad and get groceries when I got back about 6:30 it was still going but had dimmed a bunch and a cool spot was showing on the mantel. I pumped it up for the first time in 11 hours and it is now roaring again and the black spot is gone. Doesn't smell now. Or I have gotten use to the smell of RUG gone bad.

Very nice finds Randy, just wish I could find some of that stuff down here. Most of the ones here they want a smakk fortune or they're still in use!

What I do is whine and complain about not having a flea market here like Kirk and others have. Then "Boom" I stumble into something to make me shut up.

Works for me

not much up here in the GNW, but I have lots of friends in Washington State, so they find US stuff for me, like the 523 Jeremy found it for ten bucks, and passed it on to me, me happy :D

I did not know there were different versions of the 275. Still learning.

From what I have heard, the 275A do not explode. The 275 can have the valves changed to the 275A and be ok. That is what I have heard.
