Hmmm,
A teardrop gathering at a material/Lantern store?
Gee that would solve a couple issues, how to restore the Sears Lantern, find the material for Doug to make the bedding for the TD. Now all I need to the TD. Spring 2011 isn't coming fast enough!

Coleman quilted cozies for... pampered lanterns

At least small, thin "wrap" versions as box liners...

I have a welder and a sewing machine but only work for Crown Royal or cheap vodka and fresh grapefruit juice.

I need a new Avatar. I'd put my dog up there but she doesn't look much like me. She's the skinny one.

I'm up for it....I have to make samples all the time for new fabrics that come in. Now is the chance to do something for grins. I've got some ideas in mind....yes, it's a totally useless, non-essential item...but it's just for fun, some people see a Coleman cozy and ask "why"...some see it and ask "why not". I'm the only one that has to pack it around. Just gimme some time.. Doug

Sorry....there is no Coleman fabric and if there were, it would be copyrighted and I wouldn't have access to it...only the really big stores get the copyright stuff. Clothworks did have a collection called "Happy Camper" and it did have some lanterns and stoves, TD's too!, in the original printing which was 2 years ago. The follow-up collection didn't have anything like that in it, just RV's and other camping stuff. Most any of the RV or camping related fabrics go really quickly for me and when I find them I buy up multiple bolts of it.

Michael Miller recently had a collection that had a bunch of canned hams in it, Vintage camping I think is the collection name...That's what I used for my curtains and quilt in the new build, (which is still on the quilters machine) GRRRRR. I'm bad...I can change theme's on my trailers with a switch of curtains, quilts, pillow cases, aprons, etc. Keeps people guessing.

I think something like the curtains and other fabric items are a great way to give your trailer some personality. Check your local independent fabric stores for some ideas. Just say no to JoAnn, WalMart...not the same quality stuff. Doug

 This should be interesting. I also have a few idea's. But my idea's will have to wait until after my Vintage Trailer Rally is over with in two weeks. Why is it that it's a lot of work to get ready for a rally and....poof it's over way too fast?

I'm with Doug. I learned my lesson buying fabric at "Hobby Lobby" their was a flaw in the middle of a yard of fabric and I did not see it as they were measuring and cutting it. There was NO WAY that the store employee did not see it. I was basically told tough cookies no returns on fabric. I have never gone back to that store for fabric or anything else either. I rather support my local fabric/quilting shop. Ya the fabric is more $ per yard, but... they care about you as a customer and want to keep you coming back.

Here's the follow-up to the lady coming in.

Today she came back in all excited. She's gotten most of her lanterns to light up and run...she's not doing any total repaints yet...but from what I saw...she had really nice ones and they didn't need it. She's done the BB's carb cleaner treatment on a couple, and we reviewed how to remove the check valve and using PB Blaster. Also explained the "vinegar/steel wool" treatment for the brass parts as well as graphite packings. She took off to go work on the rest of them....I'm sure I'll hear from her in the future, as I showed her things like the Speedmaster 500's and a number of other fun Coleman stoves. Doug

We could very well become good friends. I am drinking Taaka and grapefruit juice right now, since I am currently not sufficient in wealth for good Canadian whiskey.

If you have access to silk screening gear, I reckon I could design a logo that says "Colemen" or "Colemann" that would keep the lawyers busy for awhile.
