Lanterns, stoves, etc... anything old!

Kirk...on the Polylight jug...back in the mid 80's...I bought a tent trailer that was manufactured by Fleetwood at an RV show. 3 weeks after I bought it, I got the very same cooler in the mail, stuffed full of gourmet chocolate chip cookies for buying the tent trailer. Doug

I know a pilot that does such trips for a company in Woodland. For an 8 place Cessna Citation Jet It would only cost us about a $1500.00 an hour. That would be in the air. And then there would be stand by time while the pilot waits for us to raid the Coleman store. Lets just say another $800.00 . Im thinking we could do it for $10,000 no problem. Oh yea bring some spending cash also for the store and snacks. Whos ready!

Okay, settle down... If you read on the Kansas Travel Coleman Museum website, it CLEARLY says that this museum is not large enough to justify a special trip..

Here is a video, just to show that there is probably nothing there that you would REALLY want to see......

Kevin - what are you doing? Some kind of Pavlov experiment? You bring us up then slam us down.

Its not the size of the store or the museum, its counting coup, its touching the wailing wall, its gazing on the golden challis. Its the ability to say " yea I have been there". Its like standing on Half Dome. Or when you have your favorite ice cream in the car and you are on your way home.

Its Wichita people. It is the home of Coleman. Please say it with reverence. :worship: 8)

Verily I say to you, I have been to this place Wichita, I have entered the Outlet store gates and gazed upon the Paul Junior designed grills, the obsoleted cook stoves and the wondrous antiquities and it was good. I paid my sheckels to purchase the parts and shall return to my homeland and make needed repairs to the green appliances of outdoors. Go all of yee and see the wonders that I have found.

By the way I did see a Mustard Yellow big hat on ebay yesterday I think. It brought a tear. I know my place in the world and I certainly am not worthy of the mustard yellow, but what a sight. One can dream,----- right ?

Whilst Kevin researches his old English could someone tell me the story of the mustard yellow lamps and stove? They seem to be rare, are they ?

You talking about Gold Bond lanterns ans stoves. They were made by Coleman in the 70's. They could be bought for Gold Bond trading stamps. They are simi-rare but there are also a lot of fakes binge made.

Personally I would not pay more for one then I would pay for a regular 200A or a 220/288.
