Check out what the main ingredient is - I suspect that Napatha is one of them!

Lazybones came up with the idea to use a Coleman lantern for your front porch light. So here is mine.

It lit up the whole front of my house All the way the street, A 200a of course.

What a great idea. Thanks Lee.

I was wondering what that light was...dang..I thought I spent the whole night on this forum and it was the sun coming up...

That is really amazing. Dang.

Maybe we could have a Burning Lamp 'front porch' photo for this year's Burning Lamp. It could be the teardropper's way of saying "We'll keep the light on for you!" during the winter holidays!

Live on the edge, Randy! Light them all in your house. Light some stoves, too! heck light the whole dang collection at once!

OK. I'm better now. Really. I just had to say that. Now I'm going to go start some charcoal in the kitchen while I dry my hair in the shower. Maybe I'll add a little Clorox to my mouthwash to see if my teeth get really white.

Sorry...it just strikes me as funny that it has been assumed on a couple threads that we are lighting charcoal in the house or firing up our Coleman collections in the house. I know Doug said he lit some lanterns in a power outage..if it was prolonged I would probably light one too...but most of us have some sense or else we wouldn't have survived camping!

If you want to participate in the Burning Lamp pick a day that is halfway decent weather wise and "light up"..then post on Dec 24 just as a goodwill amongst teardroppers thing...just spreading the good news about camping...one lantern at a time!!

OK...back to the campfire...which is a virtual campfire, I promise!!

And back to the campfire....(really, it's a virtual one!! Honest!!)

My 502 shipped today. Hoping it will arrive this weekend. I can't remember where it's coming from. I think I'll take it into the front room...I mean outside.. and see if it lights.

Really. I will take it outside and see what it does. After I verify the location of the fire extinguisher!

You have a fire extinguisher?

I saw where a guy made some simple changes to a 502 and got it burning on kerosene.

Looks good kirk!
Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind? Ask yourself these simple questions every time you are in doubt about any action.

My wife requested that the lantern not permanently stay on the front porch.

I have noticed in my life that when I make a stand regarding my position in a debatable issue with my female counterpart I usually suffer an amount Not equal to reason. Therefore, I have learned (yes men can learn) to choose my battles very carefully. Scott has made the "Man Up Dude" chest pound common among males when their wives are NOT present. Scotts gesture is funny and apropos, but not based in fact and he knows it!

Kirk - your're wrong in your assessment - Its called taunting - something that men do to other men to goad them into doing something that they normally wouldn't do - been the victim of it many a times - now go out there and PUT that lantern out on the front porch - we'll stand behind hand ya' (like way, way, way, behind ya')
