Wow Randy. You've found some awesome stuff!
I'm sure a 228 is in your future. It's just waiting for you to find it.

randy...good years, too! I'm finding late 60's and 70's stuff. I want to find something 'birthday'...but haven't found it yet..

I have some competition in my area...Doug and Kirk. I'm doomed. But I'm also one of the most stubborn people you know..so I WILL find Coleman...

I'm not competition....I rarely go looking, only once last summer, mostly just hit the garage sales and thrift stores in my local area. There are tons of 60's and up stuff around though. I went to Denios last summer and walked past all of it, Rich however loaded up. I'm looking for the oddball old stuff. Doug

Good to know! Only early stuff for you Doug?? I like the early stuff, but as I've said before, I get the later stuff (50's-60's..70's if it's a good deal) because that is what I remember as a kid and it matches my trailer. But if I found something old that was a good deal, I wouldn't pass it up. I'd probably buy it and see which one of you was interested in it. Coleman rescue.

Next up...pictures of my 502...burning! Just came in the mail yesterday!

Here's the 502 I got..was hoping to have the 200a burning too...dang valve is stuck. Wasn't before, when I brought it home. I'll have to check into it and see what I have to do to tear it apart and loosen things up...and I think it's not holding pressure. I know my 220 does. so I'm going to put that back together and see if it lights.

Meanwhile: the 502 didn't seem to hold pressure. The guy I bought it from never tried to light it. But it came with the cookset, minus the handle. I got an aftermarket handle so it's complete.

Took it out, gave it some fuel..lit up...but no joy. No pressure. So I replaced the pump. Gave it a few pumps, turned the valve..smelled a bit of fuel and heard the hiss, and lit up. Uneven while it preheated, but once going, it had a nice even flame. I let her burn for awhile to get some of the gunk or whatever off. I'm going to take the grill off and clean up a bit, burn some more, then throw some BBs in the tank and clean the fount. The decal is scratched and there is a wear spot on the paint at the bottom, but I like it that way. I'm making coffee and toas-tites on this one! Beautiful even flame. For a moment I thought I had truly lost it..I was just sitting in the yard watching it burn..then I remembered there are a whole group of you that 'get it'...old camping gear brought back to life and appreciated for another generation.

Now I want another 502. Breezy out, but flame was steady once it preheated.

I really like this 502. Can't wait to clean it up and go outside and cook something!!!

I wish I had good luck with lanterns. I'll have to study up on how to rehab a 200a.

That's what I did!!

Cant' wait to fry an egg on that thing!!! Or get out my camp percolator and make coffee. Hey, if you are garage camping for Christmas, maybe I'll cook camp coffee.

Coleman Keepers Camping Christmas!!

Gotta figure out something (a half brick??) that will prop up my toas-tite handle for hands free cooking.

Holy Smokes!! It's a WWII thingy!! The burner flips out so you can get one of the box/cooking pots on it!!!

Now if I could find one of those with a reasonable price tag!!!
