Can anyone explain why he says "Japan Ship OK" ?

Why are so many lanterns going there? Are they using them or collecting them?

There is a Japan collector Named Shinzo Kono and you can see his collection from a link on the ccf site. It is unbelievable.

I sell old stuff at the flea markets. There are a couple of Japanese guys that buy nothing but funky cool stuff from the 50's. Toys, Furniture, Coca Cola , all kinds of stuff. They pay well and we will hold stuff back till they come and check with us. We, like many other dealers become pickers for them. We buy things with them in mind and they always come check and see what we have. They usually only buy good quality stuff. It does not surprise me they buy Coleman stuff. These guys are sending containers full of stuff back to Japan. Who says we don't export much?

The same seller has a 200 seasons 2006 brand new in the box -- way cooler than the other lantern. looks like it will go for alot also.

No see here's the problem - Just like on the CCF - someone spots an ebay item - then the bidding goes up 'cause we are all bidding against each other - I keep to myself the ones I'm watching and maybe get to snipe it at the end.

Was wondering where everyone went..especially Kirk. I thought you were raised better than that! Guess it was the white gas addiction....

Maybe I'll go join Canned O Minimum in the CI section and get some good DO recipes....and look for a small CI fry pan for my 502!

well, since I know it wasn't Lee....it HAD to be Kirk. Dang.

Next year I think we should do a Coleman Keepers Winter Solstice burn...days getting longer and closer to camping season for everyone! If I had been thinking I would have said something...and gotten my lantern put back together for tonight. Just assuming that the little rat will actually light.

I want a Coleman table. That's my next thing. I can sit at my Coleman table and light the way with my Coleman lanterns while I cook a toas-tite on my Coleman stove, while checking out my Coleman lantern app on my iphone.

Makes me think I need to get my friend the mixologist to create a 'signature drink' for my trailer that has something to do with Coleman....(NO, Kirk..it will NOT have white gas in it....!)

OK...gotta go 'pm' him...got some ideas.....

I do not have a Coleman table but have a J.C. Higgins table and it looks just like the Coleman. I hope it will be OK to put my Coleman stuff on it if I ever get to go camping. It has been only two years since I took out my itty bitty camping. I need to move to Cal. for good camping with a vintage camper. People in Tn. think I am crazy with my camper.

Sounds great!! We always had the Coleman table in addition to whatever picnic table was at the site. Any camp table is a welcome addition to any setup...I have a long narrow table that hooks into a receiver on the side of my trailer...that will be my food prep/serving table, and I have one of those aluminum camp tables where the frame expands like an EZ UP and the top rolls out...that will be my dining/game table. Any picnic tables are 'extra'..not all sites have them, so I'm not counting on one.

If I found a Coleman table I would probably use it for the 502 and my 2 burner Coleman stove when I go pick it up in the spring....

I'm not sure how these tear gatherings go, but it seems like there would be the likelihood of needing a little hospitality area...a table for games and refreshments while folks visit..most people I will meet will know the trailer but not me. It's going to be interesting. I'm used to tent camping with my sister, or group camping with a mix of tents, tears, and lodge/motel folks with a common theme of riding scooters...so this will be new.

I'm thinking any vintage camping table is good...just like any vintage lantern that works is good. Even if you put a Coleman lantern on another brand table...still good. It's all about saving and using old camping equipment..they don't make 'em like they used to!!

Mostly its the Chirstmas thing that has been tying me up as of late. I know I am going to get shunned for this but, I dont really like Christmas. To me its just a high pressure sales move. Did I give enough? That should be the tag line. Everyone spending more than they can afford and then feeling guilty because they didnt spend enough. Baaaah Hummbug! Just give me $15 and one hour at a flea market and I would be perfectly happy.

I told my wife to but me a old coleman sleeping bag for Christmas.
