thanks for posting Sue....I tried to call Lee today but must have gotten the wrong number...It sure as heck wasn't Lee answering the phone. I hope he's modified his radiator scoop prior to the haul through Arizona it needs more air, or a slot out the back to allow it to flow more freely....I've got all the confidence in the world that he will take care of any issue that needs to be done. Me, I hated riding a bike in triple digit temps. Maybe we can get him a bottle of lotion when he gets to the Dam. Doug

Lee's looking good this morning. He's #15.

Check this out:
http://followride.com/

This page is updated constantly, and if you look at it later in the day, it's not quite so dramatic as at 6:30 am; if you've slept thru it, kick yourself around the block.

Arizona peeps, be on the lookout for Lee and his Frankenscoot, followed by a swarm of Wasps!

:beautiful: :icedtea: :woohoo:

Looks like he's almost there.

Yeah, Lee has a strategy...there are cooler temps in AZ than what he's ridden in so far..he's in AZ now and is headed to the final stop for the day...Show Low. The high today is supposed to be in the 70's, so no big deal.

He's just adding coolant as he goes. Tomorrow he heads down by Quartzsite....that will be hot. But most of the riding will be in the mountains...through Prescott, etc, so it should stay cool. He's leaving at 3 am to beat the heat and compensate for having to spend an hour on the side of the road here and there to let the scoot cool so he can add more coolant. He's got a jug of the stuff in his backpack. Hope he's staying hydrated...

I'm thinking he's hitting the hay fairly early to beat the swarm of wasps out of the gates. Lee is the one to beat, even though they pulled him from the official count...they determined there was no way to beat him with that handicap, so they removed him from the official workup of standings...but they will have to factor him back in somehow. He will win even if they give him a modern 250 handicap, I'm thinking. He's so far out there in front of the pack today.

I wish I could be in San Diego when he arrives...we need to throw him some kind of party at the Dam...do something special for him. That is quite a feat.

So I guess he's staying out of the pokey for now, and the aliens didn't grab him either.

As for me..the cops were here last night looking for me, and I have to stay here and wait for them today. So I'm stuck to the computer, or at least working on packing for the Dam.

I always wanted to be abducted by aliens. They have a huge alien festival in Roswell NM on July 4th weekend every year. Beam me up Scotty.

Captain Kirk out.

Hey, Shadow Catcher is here!! Great!!

Kirk..only YOU would want to be abducted by aliens. I can't even believe you said that! Dang...you ARE crazy!!

Lee said it was a beautiful ride but freezing cold (that was good for the scoot..no overheating issues apparently!) At least he's relaxing and has another day behind him.

Can't wait to see pictures tomorrow...I miss AZ, especially that part.

I can snag a picture of the scoot at pie Town, I think...

How many of you have owned "sleepers" vehicles that do not look particularly fast? I have had a couple including the current Subaru which has the 3L H6 and it will hit 120 at the end of the speedo and keep accelerating.
The one comment about blowing by those that had denigrated him for not racing is priceless.

Sue and I are going down to give Lee a ride back to NorCal so he can be well-rested to ensure he can make it to the Dam so we can all hear the story of his great adventure!!!

We'll be sure to take pictures of the 2012 Scooter Cannonball Run winner as he crosses the finish line!!

I was wondering what was wrong with the two of you that you weren't going there to see the finish..and bring him back to Norcal. Glad to hear it.

Randy..that is actually a pretty darn good idea!

OK..gotta go look at Feb31st's ride video from today...can't wait for the video tomorrow...it ought to be beautiful..maybe Lee can watch it and see what he missed scenery-wise by leaving hours before dark....

Someday I'll go back with the teardrop. That's one of my plans..go back to AZ with the 'Hopper. Would be fun to take The Dragon, too...
